Cake Bar

Love, love, love. Had a lovely white chocolate mouse cake with my sister who got the vegan choc-berry cake, which she loved. The staff were great, really friendly, even topped up my pot of tea for no cost. While yes $9.50 is steep for cake, they had heaps of options including vegan cakes for my sister which when we're out can be few and fat between. The only bad thing I have to say about the places was about the toilets, which were down a corridor and part way into an alley - not enough to stop me going back though.

I have been here twice and both have been a pretty average experience. First of all there isn't much variety, it's mostly chocolate cakes which different toppings. No cheesecakes, stickydates, crumbles, lemon tarts. The cakes we did have we're okay, but definitely not worth the price. After our second bad experience we decided to leave and went to Armageddon down the road and loved it instantly! It's everything cake bar isn't. I also work in hospitality and can say the service is very average and not very friendly at all. They seem more occupied with their fellow workers.

Went there at night after dinner elsewhere. Delicious decadent cake and good coffee. Venue not heated, so cold on a Winter's night. Coffee could of been hotter, cherry ripe cake I had was a large slice and very nice and moist. $15 for cake and coffee, so not somewhere I'd go regularly. Friendly service.

Had a terrible experience. Ordered the vegan choc mud cake to go which costed $9.50. On top of that we had to wait for quite a while and saw the lady cut off a bit of our slice ??? Before putting it into the box. We saw her prepare other cake slices and ours was so much smaller... especially for the price. What's worse is when we got home to eat it... the cake was dry and lacked flavour. Where was the chocolate mud ??? On top of that, the icing just tasted like sugar sugar sugar and you could actually bite onto the sugar granules in the icing. We had to take out all of the icing because it was so unpleasant. A whole coles mud cake cost half the price and so much more satisfying.

Location is great...it should be busier. Funk up the signage, it is very plain. The cakes on the other hand are not, they were moist and very tasty. A little on the expensive side perhaps. The set up of the shop is not convenient. The cakes are only visible from the front which is enticing but displaying some inside would be easier with ordering. Also the cash register at the front is crowded when you are paying and your customers are standing there waiting to be seated. However a great addition to Geelong and we will be returning for our third visit in winter when hopefully they will have some winter desserts.
