Culver's

This review is for Canadians who have never tried Culver's. I have only been for 1 proper visit, but I thought it was excellent. First, the fried cheese curds are awesome. The cheese has more structure than a fried Mozza stick, and the breading sticks to the cheese nicely. Very tasty, and worth hitting the drive-thru just for these. The Butterburger with cheese was also excellent. I got it with "the works" (ketchup, mustard, pickles, onions, might be missing something) which I thought was perfect. Might add fried onions next time. The patty is well seasoned and tastes possibly like a Salisbury House patty. Overall, the burger tasted like what a McDonald's McDouble should be. Well worth trying. The frozen custard is also delicious. It tastes more dense and rich than any other fast food soft serve I've had. We got a free custard after filling out a 3 minute online survey on the bill from cheese curds. Makes it worthwhile to plan to hit Culver's twice in a trip. The cement mixers (same as a DQ blizzard from what I could tell) are very popular and there is a special flavour of the day everyday. We tried the plain vanilla, just to understand what the "custard" was all about, and we are glad to have started there. Definitely will be back.

Culver's is easily my favorite fast food chain, and the Grand Forks store is no exception. Every meal I've been served has been fresh and delicious. Occasionally the wait for my meal or treat has been a bit longer than one might expect for fast food, but I value freshness over speed. It's never been an unreasonably long wait, so they earned the 5 star review

I asked for a chicken sandwich and the cashier confirmed with me twice that I wanted a chicken sandwich, I asked at the window for lettuce and tomato on my chicken sandwich, then when I got home to eat my food I opened the lovely brown paper bag only to find a double cheeseburger. COME ON. Thank you for the food but one star for completely botching my order.

I’m not a fan of the queuing system. I almost always only go here for ice cream and I see no reason why I need to wait in the food queue in the drive thru for a scoop of ice cream and one shake…seems like they could devise a more efficient system of getting the ice cream customers on their way and have less cars sitting and waiting. On this particular occasion there were 9 cars in the queue and some of us had no way out until others got their food and were able to move… Anyway, the ice cream is good. And the times I have eaten here it’s decent.
