La Casa De Pancho

We had been here two or three times in the last year, and absolutely loved the food, margaritas, atmosphere, and service. We brought a friend from out of town last weekend and we're very disappointed. The chips were cold and stale. Then we ordered guacamole and it was brown and had a fuzzy texture to it. Would not recommend this restaurant, as the quality has definitely declined.

I have been to Pancho's many times and I love love love the fresh made margaritas. The Classic Azul marg is the best I've ever had! The skinny marg is perfect for when I want to feel like I'm on a diet. :-) While they are not always publicized, the street tacos are wonderful, plentiful meat and fresh cilantro and sweet onion, Amazing! A fellow diner stated that the quality of a Mexican restaurant should be judged on how the rice and beans would stand on their own. At Pancho's the rice is never sticky and never has the highly suspect frozen peas and diced carrots of many other places. The beans are of a good texture, never runny. Lorena and Eric are wonderful hosts, always friendly and great with attentive service. I highly recommend Pancho's!

My sister and our husbands were traveling home from Colorado and we stopped in grinnell for the night. We were starving and wanted food. We tried one other Mexican restaurant but did not see it. So we kept moving on to come across this GEM. Best Mexican food and great margaritas on a Monday night. Our waitress was friendly and funny. Don't by pass this place it's amazing food!!

When going to a new Mexican restaurant I like to try their Tamales and Chile Relleno. Their Chile Relleno is one of the best. It is crispy on the outside and a very generous portion size. The place can be extremely busy at times then the service will suffer. But regularly they are quick to get your food to you.

My wife and I chose to eat here after watching a matinee movie next door. There were only a few customers present when we arrived at 5:50pm. We had placed our order by 6pm. We waited and waited for our food to be served. Approximately 6:30 our food arrived - but wait, it wasn't ours - wrong table. We waited and waited some more. We finally asked our waitress at 6:40 about our order and she said she would check but she never returned. By this time the restaurant was pretty well filled with customers. Finally at 7pm, 1 hr and 10 minutes after we had arrived and an hour after we had ordered, we walked out. Most of the tables in our area had been waiting almost as long as we had. The customers at the table beside us had left after only 20 minutes or so. There seemed to be several wait staff on duty. Perhaps the kitchen was the problem?? I don't think we'll be returning. Casa Margaritas serves much faster than this restaurant.
