Indian Essence

Visited with my family of 3 on a quiet mid-week dinner service. Many of my friends had recommended this place and I ofcourse had high expectations going in, so the bar was already set high. What I loved: 1. The staff were super helpful, very polite, courteous and friendly. 2. The ambience was nice, no loud music, clean and cosy setting. 3. Food was good. But frankly for a dinner that costs 100quid for young family of 3, the food has to be good. What I feel could have been better: 1. The service was a bit slow, I noticed only 5-6 tables were occupied but still a simple glass of tap water took close to 15mins to be served and that too when we were sitting right next to the bar. However once the server arrived they were a pleasure to interact with. 2. The ice cream was very disappointing, have had better ice cream in Tesco. I would certainly recommend Indian Essence to anyone looking for a good authentic Indian fine dining experience.

It's not every day you get to spend a Tuesday afternoon with lovely friends celebrating my birthday in the company of your amazing restaurant. Food was amazing every single flavour that was listed on the menu I could get from every single dish. The fantastic birthday celebration cake that they made for me and the 5 Star service received really made today a special day.

Had another excellent meal at this restaurant. The food is nothing like your usual Indian. No jalfrasi or masala. Just perfectly tender tasty food and a very varied menu. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion. The staff are very friendly and helpful with the menu. We had a window table which was lovely. Nice touch with a candle in a desert for my son's birthday.

The good was truly delicious, we had the 3 courses weekend meal deal. With a bottle of wine shared in three the final price was £50 each. Great selection of wine for reasonable price. It’s expensive for a small town but worth it for the food and atmosphere. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the staff seemed untrained and confused.
