Zoey's Cantina

I like to swing around and check out local Mexican-themed fare. I ordered chicken and shrimp enchiladas here, and they were wonderful. The spices (at least on the shrimp) was a nice little change from what I'm used to, and the addition of Mexican street corn on the menu was a nice surprise. The establishment itself is large and airy with a separate enclosed bar area and a roomy patio for outdoor dining. The bar has plenty of large, clearly visible screens for your viewing your favorite sport viewing as well. If you're around and want a quick drink or a bite to eat, give it a shot!

First thought: little scared that the parking lot was empty but it was only 4:20 on a Friday so perhaps that was the reason. I think we'll be back! The pretzels appetizer with cheese was actually very pleasant and not just the bar staple i expected. Bread was not chewy or gummy and the cheese wasn't heavy and gross. Will order those again. I had "mommy's enchiladas" and they were fairly tasty although i was already full from drinking two large soda and the chips and salsa we also had with our pretzels. My daughter ordered the pancakes and they were actually pretty good. She's eight and super picky but she finished her plate without complaint. My wife ordered a burger and took half home-had she left the other half we'd know it wasn't very good. I haven't discussed the food with the family but I'm fairly certain we all enjoyed. Son had smothered burrito, shrimp, and he ate half without complaint. Here's the part i liked: two days ago we had opportunity to eat out and tried to visit the newly remodeled Bar on St Rose but it looks like when they remodeled they removed the family dining option. Zoey's was predicated on the idea that you should have the ability to enjoy the meal with your family with mention on the menu and even a special kids area with televisions tuned to children shows. Really cool and i hope the place picks up business because i would like to return. The food was worth eating again and the place has potential, just needs some customers.

I would have given this place a 1 based on the food alone but I'm giving it a 3 overall because of the service. We heard this place was kid friendly so we decided to check it out. They have a small play area with a chalk board, crayons, kid size chairs, tables, and they have bins of other toys but they looked really dirty. We ordered our food and it came out relatively quickly but I ended up sending my Cheese Enchiladas back because it was cold and the cheese wasn't melted it still had the "grated" texture.. The waitress quickly gave me a new plate of food and it was better but it didn't taste good. The red sauce smelled and tasted like ketchup. The side of beans and rice were good and the smothered burrito was okay but not worth 11 dollars. Two meals and two drinks came out to 30.xx dollars. I thought it was overpriced and way too hyped up.

Wasn't a fan of the menu, beer selections, and overall Cantina. The atmosphere is great and they offer a section for kids including toys, kids TV, and real laid back family friendly. Service was good, nothing to complain about. Wife didnt care for the house margaritas either. Overall, glad we tried it but doubtful we'll be back.

Great service, good food! Loved the kiddie corner concept. Will attempt to try it out with our offspring. They are still in the beginning stages of establishing the restaurant and cutting it over from Hooters (ie. No blender for the margarita, but we like it on the rocks anyways and the charge on the CC is Hooters instead of Zoeys). Glad I went with the hubby and didn't have to explain that one later...

Okay so I'm giving 5 stars but it's not perfect. However I so enjoyed the selection of free toiletries in the bathroom that I bumped their score up to five. The food was not great. I was starving, ordered the steak Caesar salad, it arrived with too much dressing already stirred in, and the steak was overcooked. We didn't complain, but it definitely was not great. The bathrooms were amazing though. First of all, the room was heated, so much so that the toilet seat was warm. Yes, you read that right. Kind of nice, kind of creepy. Like I hope that isn't someone else's body heat. They even had wipes in the stall! Check out the pictures. I would definitely return here again! Thanks for the breath mint and flosser!

My husband and i met Angel out one evening and he mentioned where he worked. Since he's such a nice guy, we decided to stop in and see him at Zoey's one evening. The atmosphere is great with big beautiful tvs at the bar. The menu has a nice variety, although we weren't hungry and didn't eat. We both played and drank. We both even won money. We'll definitely go back.
