Agu Ramen

I was staying at a nearby hotel and thought I would give this place a try. With prices actually being comparable to DC metro area, I figured the ramen had to be pretty decent. Broth tasted pretty nice but the noodles were thin and texture was a-OK. The overall portion was way too small and the wait staff did not tell me that there would be an additional charge for adding spicy sauce option. Service was mediocre and the waitstaff is quick to bring you your check and to collect it as soon as you get up from your table. Suggested gratuity on the check started at 20% which I thought was pretty gutsy for a casual, hole in the wall type of restaurant.

AGU Ramen Yummmmm!! I started with a Japanese Sangria before I knew it I had three...lol. We ordered a combo appetizer, yummy. Main dish was Miso Soup and chicken katzu. Fyi, if you ask for a plate you will get the smallest appetizer plate ever. It makes it hard to share a dish. The food was AMAZING, good music playing in the background, nice atmosphere, dress casual. The service is amazing. We paid $80 with drinks and 15% tip. Cant wait to go back, well worth the price. Thinking of making it a date night on Friday.

I tried almost all of the options on the menu. They have nice ramens for sure. The donburis are plenty. I was expecting more out of the karaage one, good but rustic. I think that a bit of marinated ginger and teriyaki sauce with karashi wiil be a good idea. Lot of Currys (I would love to have more Currys too) more of everything to be honest especially donburis! Good place to go eat. Minus one star only for the spicy options, they bring you the spices (2 different kinds) and you mix it yourself. I kind of understand why they do it, but I would prefer to have a spiciness level out of the box. (I am being lazy😋)

Very good ramen that lets you adjust the heat level of any bowl of ramen. I can easily see this becoming one of my favorite ramen spots in Houston. The restaurant itself is nice and clean and the service was great. The food came out quick, and was nice and hot. My only real issue is this place has very limited parking. Also, there is hardly a wait

I love this place. Good warm ramen, awesome happy hour, great menu selections, reasonably priced. To top it off the staff is great. My wife and I accidentally showed up at 2150 not knowing they closed at 2200. Staff welcomed us with open arms and warm smiles, didnt rush us, and were still attentive to us while shutting down. We were very very apologetic and even offered to take the ramen to go as we live down the street....their reply was "No, it is ok...the ramen taste better fresh here". They got a $40 tip lol...cant beat customer service like that.
