Neighborhood Cafe

An anachronism (in the best sense of the word) reaching back 50 or more years to a time when the local, small town cafe was the central meeting place for townsfolk, especially the elderly. I was amazed at this phenomenon. The only thing missing was a screendoor snapping shut whenever anyone entered or left. The conversations were loud and happy. People know each other here. The servers were mostly older women (I appreciate the management hiring them because many older women live on very little Social Security income because they didn't have to work in the single-income households of their generation. They probably need the extra help. It also keeps them active and healthy!) The food was good. Well prepared. Eggs were just perfect, overeasy. The pancake was also well prepared. Everything including the coffee was at or better than expected. I had a couple friends recommend The Neighborhood Cafe and I can now join them.

Neighborhood Cafe... we stumbled upon by wrong turn. Wait staff was nice, attentive, and seemed like one big family. Food was ok, but a bit more pricey than expected. I didn't leave with a sense of value.. Property needs to be freshened up. Carpet is old and very worn. One fridge has shattered glass. It's a little hole in the wall and I love them, but it's 3 stars all day long. I probably won't go back.. not because it was a bad expireince but there's better options for less money.. My counterpart ordered a different meal and said it was good. So...to me.. Just very meh. Go there if you want... Don't if you don't.. not a horrible choice either way.

I just had a very bad experience here told my waitress I wanted ham 3 eggs biscuits n gravy n coffee. Asked if she would charge me a lot she said o no also ordered 1 slice of pie went to pay bill and the owner said 17.54! Why so much I asked? He said well u added gravy. Coffee. Extra egg I feel that 14.54 for ham gravy coffee n 3 eggs is way overpriced people wee nice however. It is probably my lady ever time to vidit

Don't come here expecting a whole lot. It really is just a small little neighborhood diner with very....very limited menu. We were just looking for a nice little local diner to have good breakfast and saw this place had good reviews. It's not off a main street so you have to map it. The diner was filled with...local, elderly people having weekend breakfast. We definitely stood out like a sore thumb. The menu is two pages, 1 page for breakfast and the other side with lunch. It's very basic and the price reflects it. The service was good and food is just OK for me. Probably not a place that I would recommend for out of towners though. I had 2 eggs which comes with hash browns and toast...nothing special. My beau had the sausage omelet with grits and biscuit with gravy. Again, it was just OK.
