Ilkley Plaice

There used to be a strange place for fish and chips in Ilkley. It was in a back street and only opened on strange days. Now this is the ONLY place to go. The one on Leeds rd that was GP.s is not worth it. Treat yourself to great fish and chips here instead. My children even comment on how good the batter is!!

These were the best fish and chips I've had in a restaurant in a long while. We had the meal deal 2 courses for £13.95 you can chose from a selection of mains and starters or desserts. The chips were delicious fluffy and crispy and the fish was a good size it came with with either mushy peas or curry. We had a dessert all are home made and they were delicious. Would highly recommend we will be back. Georgous food 😋

At this point in a baking hot day we were just relieved to enter a place with air conditioning! Very good value - neither of us could finish everything on our groaning plates. Both the scampi and the fish were hot, with crispy breadcrumbs and very crispy batter. We both had Yorkshire Mess. They arrived in tall glasses, looking like knickerbocker glories. Very tasty. We were served by a very friendly lady. All in all a good experience.

My mum chose Ilkley Plaice for her 75th birthday lunch yesterday. My first time and it didn't disappoint. They made it extra special by putting banners up and there was even a glass of fizz for the birthday girl. Absolutely delicious gluten free fish and chips, in fact the best I've had in a long time. There's a lot of choice for gluten free and dairy free. It was amazing to have a choice of decent desserts. Everyone enjoyed their food, the chips were divine (triple cooked YUM). Service was brilliant, the restaurant was lovely and clean, prices were reasonable and the quality of food was excellent. We will definitely be back. Thank you for looking after us.

Today, we celebrated a special occasion in the restaurant. We have previously had many delicious fish n chips from takeaway. Had the most amazing seafood platter (proof in photo) at Ilkley Plaice situated behind the takeaway.  What a gem of a place to discover - lovely ambience and great service. We could easily have been served this delicious platter  at some exotic faraway seaside restaurant but the quality and standard of this  will take some beating.

Visited Ilkley last week and thought I would grab a fish and chips before an evening out and so glad I did. Quite simply the best fish and chips anywhere. The chips are cooked like they used to be ; crispy, golden and still soft in the middle. Not greasy at all. The fish was delightful ; cooked perfectly. This place is on a different level from anywhere I know and I would travel miles out of my way to visit again. Unfortunately I live in Kent so too far away (gutted) but everytime I visit Ilkley I will return. 10/10... Best fish & chips on the planet !

This is a must.this is a takeaway service and a restaurant. you can eat outside in the sunny weather table and chairs supplied.or you can eat inside their charming restaurant situated behind the takeaway shop the entrance is conveniently just around the side.it is wheelchair friendly.the staff/owner is so friendly.it is situated in the central carpark in ilkley.back to the food. Blooming yum.top noch also does grilled fish. hot and cold drinks.5 plus stars 🤩 will be back
