King Edward Bar And Grill

I currently live in the King Edwards. I have the small one bedroom on the 12th floor I rented without visiting first due to being from out of town. First of all the personnel Danielle M was so helpful with the application, questions etc. Security guard, Parks was helpful ! . I met Molly last week. Molly is nothing but pure energy, delight . She is a resource for things to do or where to go in Jackson. She definitely knows what is going on downtown in the community and around the area. The apartments are very nice. I wish that they kept the stairways cleaner and the trash swept up outside. I have noticed taking the stairs that the janitor or the repairman have left equipment, trash on the stairwells in between floors. I love the rooftop and the little pool. The workout room is nice along with community room. The whole floor is quiet! They have apartments on the 9, 10, 11, and 12th floor. You do have to pay for your electric and internet . Also parking is 75.00 dollars a month for covered in the garage but it’s worth it!! You have keyed entry so your secure. I love it. Mailbox is downstairs.

Good morning, I am extremely disturbed and offended. I frequent the city of Jackson. This is my second time in less the 45 days of being at your property. This morning I came off of the elevator at 3:48am to await my driver. Noticing my driver had not yet arrived I decided to sit in the lobby to wait. A few minutes later I’m approached by your hotel security guard being asked forcefully “hey, do you have a room here.” I looked at him and sir, don’t bother me.” He said “listen here if you don’t have a room here you can sit in here.” Mind you, I’m sitting in the lobby with $7000 worth of Louis Vuitton luggage on, a $500 Robert graham shirt, $200 jeans and $300 Robert graham shoes. I am obviously no transient vagabond looking for a place to duck out of the cold. The security noticed I was not going to accept being harassed without resistance said “I’m just telling you what she told me.” I asked “who is she”, he pointed towards the front. I then said tell her don’t bother me either. He continues to persist that I needed to leave. So I proceed to walk over to where “she was.” She is your night auditor Shonda; who is seated 40 feet from the elevator outside of your business center with her feet kicked up on a chair wrapped in a blanket watching TV. She is 40 feet from the same elevators I had just come off of. Had she not been so consumed in her television show she would have both heard and seen me come off of the elevator. I walked over to her and demanded her name and told her that the way she was seated over there the question should be asked is she a guest or is she working. She proceeded to demonstrate her contempt by jumping up and and grabbing a business card to hand to me. A white guest came off of the same elevator and was greeted with great kindness. Another white guest walked in off the street with slippers and a robe on and a coffee mug in hand and was greeted with great kindness. But the black man is harassed, and disrespected. It is disgusting that such blatant displays of racism are still apart of the American reality. Especially from one black person to another. I sent my complaint in, tangent manager responded promising to call me but never did. If you’re a person of color this may not be the hotel for you. Sincerely, a disgusted customer
