Grand River Brewery - Jackson

The food was pretty darn good, but the service really ruined it. Came on a Saturday at 3pm and was told there was just a staff meeting so it would take awhile for the staff to catch up and seat us. No problem. We were seated and the waiter was super friendly. We ordered and then never saw our waiter again. Someone else served our dinner. We got up and asked someone for silverware. We ate, yum, but man we havent had a refill yet. We kept waiting for any kind of service until we finally gave up and asked someone else for a bill and box. The original server came back with the bill but no explanation, and still no refills. I too work in customer service and understand how understaffing or overwhelming happens but we were simply forgotten and the lack of service put a damper on the evening.

Stopped here on a Sunday just before dinner time for a flight and an appetizer. The six sampler flight was very reasonably priced and refreshing. The 4 pretzel appetizer with 2 dollar up-charge for pimento beer cheese. The pretzels were excellent but the cheese was average. I was seated immediately and received Excellent service from Christina who worked the bar and the table I was at. Low top, booth and bar seating. Wifi but it was slow. Large outdoor patio with umbrellas and shaded areas. Parking is odd but relatively close. They also have a personal mug available which I think is great for return customers for a craft brewery. The main reason I gave 5 stars because the owner answers every review, good or bad. He complements the reviewer or tries to make things right. Most businesses just ignore the bad reviews. Kudos for this place for always trying to improve. I will definitely return to try out lunch or dinner (and another flight of course) when I’m back in the area.

Without a doubt a hidden gem to check out! Quite possibly the best brewery my girlfriend and I have visited together. The beers... The food... The atmosphere... The service were all on point. Our server Steve was extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and made our experience even more enjoyable! Definitely have to try the Chronic Fries (addicting) and the Sticky Fried Chicken Burger (OMG). Can't wait to come back again!!!

A nice venue, but the brisket was definitely not slow cooked with steam. No smoke rings and I had to use a knife to cut it. I wanted to order the St Louis ribs, but the server said the ribs had been smoked the day before and that they reheat them on the grill! Talk about overcooking! If they want to serve ribs a day old, they should use a steam bath instead. The beer flight was quite good and the server was exceptional. The highlight of the dish was the sweet potato fries which were done perfectly although ordered at the time, did not come out with the brisket. We sat outside on the patio but they are not dog friendly unless you have a service animal, of which Winston is registered! A pleasant day but not the best barbecue I've ever had.

Service was good, beer and food were fantastic. My issue is with false advertising. Both via the phone, and directly on their menu it says that their poutine is half off for happy hour, but they charged me full price. When I asked the bartender, she informed me that it was half off with the purchase of an entree, but that wasn’t stated anywhere visible to me as a patron, nor was it mentioned over the phone. Still the poutine was delicious, and piping hot so it was worth the full price so I didn’t make a big deal out of it. Just be honest and up front with your customers.

Always a delight! Bartender was exceptional. I snacked today. It hit the spot perfectly. Left with a bottle of wine to share later even. Lol Nom, nom, nom! My go to snacks are: deep fried pickles, sweet potato wedges and the... oh so delicious Ruben fritters! All come with there own dipping sauces that just tie it all together. Yum!
