Lovely Cafe. Big black & white historic image of Newark Ave pedestrian street.
Perfect place to get a coffee and relax from the lively vibe of downtown JC.
Very close to the grove street path station.
Very nice & clean restroom. For customers only.

Great little coffeeshop with a nice atmosphere and kind staff. Well made coffee and average prices. If it's too small for you, there's a larger location at the Urby Building. I prefer this location. Yes, they have a bathroom and it's kept nice and clean.

In an effort to support local businesses and find the most delicious coffee in the downtown jersey city area, 9 Bar Cafe has become my favorite thus far. Service was efficient, croissant was fresh (was told it was chocolate but tastes like hazelnut? In any case it’s delicious.) A local artist’s floral artwork dotted the walls and is up for sale. Really nice experience and great coffee!

Good little cafe. I enjoyed my matcha latte. I brought my laptop to sit for a bit and work on stuff while enjoying my latte, but unfortunately their wifi wasn’t working and they don’t have bathroom for customers. So I’d recommend this place for take-out only if you live in the area. Maybe the other location on Greene st. has more of a workplace-like environment—but not this one on Erie st. Just FYI :)

Love this place! Fresh coffee no matter what time of day and awesome desserts like green tea tiramisu or matcha coconut doughnuts.

Delicious coffee but 50 cent oat milk surcharge on a $2.60 coffee is lame.
The amount of oat milk added to a small cup of coffee doesn’t justify a 20% surcharge. When you drop surcharge I’ll come back.

I honestly recommend this cafe as having the best coffee in Jersey City. I have gone hundreds of times since it has opened and find the roasting and preparation to be top notch.The staff is always cheerful and positive, remembers my orders and delivers quickly. I have been to both locations and find the same consistent service. Years ago, I was elated at finding a new cafe and even more happy they are successful. Here's to many more years of 9 bar!
