This is a very old condiment / sweet shop of Kolkata. The legacy goes beyond 170 years. They are specialist of making dry sweets. Highly recommended sweets to get from here - Gud Monohora, any variation of Jolbhora Sandesh, Any variation of normal Sandesh and Malai Singara. Malai Singara can be somewhat rich for some people.

Kolkata is full of gems when sweets are concerned and this one is one of them,situated around 15 min walk from Girish Park metro its worth the walk. The shop is around 180 year old and specializes in Sondesh. Whenever I visit such type of legendary places just request them to serve few of their best one,here request best 4 and after eating it was difficult to decide. Its a must visit place,every sweet tooth visiting Kolkata should have in the bucket list.

Absolute legend in North Kolkata offering sweetmeats since 1844 specialising in "sandesh" only. Bit overpriced, a very retro look with iron grills separating the patrons from truly entering and having any kind of interaction. Customer service needs to be improved compared to century old legendary Bengali sweet shops in Kolkata. They have traditional as well fusion sweets. I am more of a traditional misti person than its fusion counterparts . They have butterscotch, strawberry, blueberry, mango, chocolate, kiwi, green apple, orange to name a few modern fusions. From traditional sweets one can have Malai Roll, Sorer Singara, Mohini, Jolbhora. In winter they have some special sweets which I love like Gurer Sandesh, Gurer Makha Sandesh, Gurer Kachagolla, Janai style Gurer Monohora. Nolen Gur in different size containers are also sold.

One of the most oldest and the best sweet shop selling " only sandesh" sweets. The place gives the best quality of sweets, KOLKATA is known for. Now the price is a bit pricy as compared to local sweet shops but the quality is something you would not even find in 5 star restaurants around the city. The legacy is kept well.
