Burger You

One of the best beef burgers in town! Burger You has become a go-to option for me and my friends whenever we crave authentic burgers at an affordable price. The 'oozy suzy' and 'bob' beef burger are my personal favorite from their menu. Though all the other items are also worth trying if you don't want to miss out on some honest, wholesome and stylish burger experience.

So this place is located at Sudder street. It is tucked away in a quaint alleyway just opposite Hotel Walson and may be a bit difficult to find initially. I had a BOB, which is basically a very juicy beef patty with a smothering of melted cheddar, caramelized sweet onions and a bunch of veggies resting between 2 toasted sweet buns. They use buff instead of beef but the quality of the meat was excellent. It was juicy and seasoned perfectly. I like meat medium-rare and the patty was cooked to perfection with a lot of infused flavours. Adding a bunch of crunchy bacon on top just took it up a notch in the satisfaction meter. The mushroom burger was a bit of a disappointment as the potato patty was overcooked. The thing that they can do better in my opinion is use seseme seed buns. The potato wedges however were seasoned well. Although they were a bit on the softer side, the mayo was probably one of the tastiest mayonnaise I have had in a while. P.S. The owner was an additional perk I was glad to meet here. He was extremely chatty and gave a warm vibe. Overall, it was quite a good experience with good food and better conversations.

Burger You came highly recommended as the best burger in Kolkata. I've tried a ton, so the gauntlet was thrown down. We decided to visit and compare against our current top contenders for best beef burger (Hard Rock and Oberoi). My Scores: Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Atmosphere 4/5 Food: On ancillary items I think Burger You can do better. The Hot Chocolate lacked enough Chocolate and the wings would be better if they had a crunchier skin below the sauce. BUT, we went there for burgers and the burgers delivery hands down. The 1/4 patty wad juicy and flavorful and balanced nicely with veggies and sauces. The juices do make the burger a bit sloppy, but the bun was thick enough to hold it all together through the meal. Welcome to the best burger in town. However, their fries were also a highlight. Thicker but with a satisfying crispness, and properly salted. Defo worth the visit. Service: Props to Mark and his brother for making the visit fun as well. The open kitchen is a daring move, but given the guys are friendly, it added to the vibe. Thanks for making it a good visit. Atmosphere: The place feels like a work in process. It's got the bones to be a nice sit down place, and it's clear the guys have a vision in mind. I worry about dining in when the weather gets hot. The place can do well with delivery, but given their location I hope they do more to capitalize on their dine in experience. This probably means putting more money into developing the ambiance, which I hope they have the opportunity to do. Lastly, I must compliment their small, curated menu. I'm not a fan of big menus, so i hope they keep their menu focused on a strong core where every item is top of the line. I haven't seen a 4 page menu in kolkata in years and I absolutely loved it.
