Excellent food. Ordered the catch of the day, grass fed lamb and high-country stone. The service received was awesome and our friendly waiter Waris really added to the excellent experience and took excellent photos and videos for us in the restaurant. Will recommend to anyone passing by the area to try the food!

We enjoyed "The challenger" sizzling plate which had 2 cuts of beef steak. It was the perfect portion for us and we enjoyed cooking it ourselves.
The veggies and mash were both pretty cold, with the mash being quite lumpy. We were primarily there for the steak though so weren't too dissatisfied.
Service was good but dropped off once we had our food. We were able to walk in and get a table sounds 6pm but it did get quite busy.

This restaurant truly impressed me! Their coffee is absolutely delightful, with a rich and aromatic flavor that is simply enchanting. The appetizers are equally exceptional, each dish leaving a lasting impression. As for the steak, it's nothing short of amazing - cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The entire dining experience left me thoroughly satisfied, and I'll definitely be making this restaurant a regular spot to visit! One last thing, the service is great tooooooooooooooo.

My recent visit to this culinary gem left me in awe of their exceptional offering, and I simply had to share my excitement.
The stone-grilled steak was a revelation. The quality of the meat was impeccable. Each bite was a burst of rich, beefy flavor that left me craving more.
The service was impeccable, with attentive waitstaff ensuring that my glass was never empty and that I had everything I needed to fully savor this exquisite meal.
This is a place I'll be returning to again and again.

One of the more popular restaurant at Lake Tekapo. Their hot stone steak is quite popular but it’s more for the experience rather than quality of the meat. We ordered 2 ribeye steaks and they were both overdone from what was stated. Lamb rack was good though. The mash potato went very well with the lamb. Can drop by you’re in the area. Plenty of parking nearby.

I had dinner twice here, the staff was was friendly, always checking if you need anything and the food was very good too.
I had their rib eye steak the first time the steak was not medium cooked but the taste of the whole dish was very good so I decided to have it one more time. The second time the steak was cooked to medium. Pairing it with an Alpha Domus wine which made it perfect and why not add a garlic bread as well.

Absolutely fabulous meal. We went for the Challenge, which is the rump and eye fillet that you cook yourself on a stone grill. It was exquisite; so tender and full of flavour.
Desserts were also amazing, though I would have preferred no nuts in the strudel but that’s on me, not them. The sticky date pudding was also delicious. Service was spot on and the staff very welcoming and friendly.

After looking for a nice hot soup around the village and not finding many options, we (group of three friends) came across Mackenzies Cafe Bar that was offering a tomato soup as the Soup of the Day! We all decided to have one, and it was absolutely delicious! What a treat with a nice glass of wine!
