Upohar Vegetarian Restaurant

Upohar catered our business networking event recently and did excellent work. Guests enjoyed the food, making comments about the vibrant flavors and wide variety of options. The event was on a rooftop with no kitchen nearby so logistics were challenging but it did not seem to phase the kind, capable team. Everything from our initial inquiry about their services to the final cleanup after the event was well done! Looking forward to using Upohar again in the future.

Sri and her team made my 50th birthday so special! They met with me ahead of time and helped me plan the event with care and kindness. On the day of the party, in torrential rain, they set up an awning beside their lovely food truck so that guests could stay dry as they ordered their food. The food was delicious and flavorful and impressed our guests! Afterwards, they packed up all the leftovers making everything so easy for my family and me. I am so grateful to Upohar for helping me celebrate a significant milestone and being part of a very special memory for me!

My husband and I had Upohar cater our wedding and we can't tell you how incredible it was! The food was absolutely delicious. We got pernil, pollo asado, empanadas, and chips with salsa and guacamole. Our guests were raving. I also can't say enough good things about Sri, Stephanie, and Josiah. They were a joy to work with — very responsive, attentive and organized. The service at our wedding was top-notch as well. A few of my guests told me how kind and courteous they thought Josiah was. My husband and I couldn't be happier. We highly recommend Upohar for your event!!

Upohar catered our wedding in August, and we couldn't be happier with our choice! My husband and I are well-traveled and have adventurous palates, so we were so excited when Stephanie helped us put together an eclectic but cohesive global menu that included flavors from Africa, the Caribbean, East Asia, and the Middle East. Many of our guests were accustomed to more traditional American cuisine, but they gave us rave reviews and even asked us how we came up with such a great menu. Sri and Stephanie are warm and caring people who are not only committed to providing great food and service, but also supporting their community. Their passion for employing refugees/immigrants especially spoke to me, as I have very dear friends who are refugees from Romania, and I had the pleasure of educating many of Lancaster's Cuban physicians in Penn State Harrisburg's second degree nursing program, providing them an opportunity to continue their calling in healthcare here. It was an absolute pleasure supporting such a compassionate and talented team with our business.

We enjoyed a wonderful variety for my daughter's graduation party. We chose heavy appetizers and this made for a fun sampling. What I appreciated most was the way each dish was described in detail on easy-to-read cards, including all main ingredients along with gluten, no gluten, vegan. One of my guests has a severe tree nut allergy so working with a caterer who took the menu selection and cross contamination seriously gave me such peace of mine. This made the party even more enjoyable for me as host, and my guests felt cared for too.

Upohar was recommended to us because we knew we wanted a caterer that could pull in lots of flavor for our guests coming in from all over the US as well as Mexico and Puerto Rico. Not only did they nail a jam packed menu request but also went ABOVE and BEYOND to get the table settings just right AND pull in little extras that were most important to the Bride and Groom's personal tastes - who doesn't love pan dulce (mexican sweet breads)?! Sri, the owner, was so thoughtful in preparing and sharing a tasting menu that gave us a sense for ALL that could be done by her team and Stephanie, director of operations, was meticulous and methodical in her ongoing support and encouragement to support us throughout our planning. The final ingredient to the spectacular interaction provided was Stephanie finding me, the bride, a Day of Coordinator, for a small added cost, that was an exact match for my personality and had a lock on the desired wedding theme - Spanish/Boho/Romantic. Overall, the menu the look and the experience of working with Upohar was a "gift" - which fits given it means they lived up to their namesake! We cannot wait to find more reasons to work with or recommend Upohar to friends and family...and maybe troll their events for more of their OUT OF THIS WORLD pernil and coconut rice!
