The Fat Crab Cafe

It was fine. I was really wanting fish and chips, and this is one of the few places in Lancaster that has fish. I did a takeout order, so I wasn't expecting perfectly crispy and hot food. I was really disappointed that the fish was overcooked with one piece having a slight burnt taste. Fish is expensive ($18 a meal), and I was really hoping it would be prepared properly. I thought the fries were good and a unique shape. They also seemed to use very fresh ingredients which I appreciated. We ordered salmon as well which was good, just a little underseasoned. It seems like a nice local restaurant, so I don't want to give it low stars. I do think there's room for improvement, though.

The Poboy was okay. The fish was cooked to perfection, portions slightly small for a traditional poboy. The bread wasn't great. What was supposed to be a horseradish potato salad was very bland. No horseradish at all. In fact, it was more flavorless than a standard potato salad. However, I would eat here again.

Since I left the Gulf Coast of Texas decades ago, I have been on a quest for great fried oysters. FOUND! The perfect fried oysters are here. I went twice this week just to enjoy some. Other people in my party also raved about their food. The staff is so friendly. Even though you have to order at the counter, it's worth it to enjoy this yummy seafood. I will be there often.

Stopped in for dinner. The food was awesome! Best mac and cheese I've had in Lancaster. Broiled cod was great. Awesome cornbread. Great fried fish sandwich. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The other customers were pleasant to talk to. This spot is located inside Mr Bills seafood. It has separate hours from Mr Bills.
