Kalapaki Beach Hut

Walked here from the Marriott and were not disappointed. We had the Hawaiian shave ice and the aloha burger...I know touristy as F, but whatever, they looked good. The shave ice was not as good as JoJo’s but better than anything we’ve had outside Kauai. And the aloha burger, while it sounded like a mosh-mash of random stuff, actually went together very well and was the best burger we had on the island. Teriyaki sauce, pineapple, medium rare burger, and the normal fixings...it all went together with the flavors complementing each other. Pretty good for $10. They were out of the Taro Fries when we came so no review of those guys.

I have been to Kauai twice and ate all over the island. Of all the places I have ate, this is the best place I have been. Their lunch burgers blow your mouth away and their breakfasts make you wish you woke up hours earlier to get it as soon as they opened. I just wish this place was available throughout Hawaii and the US. If you miss this place on your list of places to eat you have made a huge mistake.

Affordable and decent mom and pop spot for breakfast. Went here twice. The breakfast sandwich: Bacon, egg, cheese, mayo, in between two hamburger buns (asked for no tomato and lettuce) and it was satisfying. The Kalapaki breakfast was good (portuguese sausage and eggs were cooked perfectly) there was too much white rice though.

We came here for breakfast for almost a week and let me tell you.... this place is the best! Best food, best shakes, best view. It's a little place and they have a bar to sit at downstairs or up top to look at the harbor. The loco mocos, the local boy omelet, the potatoes, the breakfast sandwich... ugh!!! The best! This was our favorite spot!!!

I came here originally looking for a burger but ended up getting the grilled ahi, which was the catch of the day. I don’t think I had ever ordered a sub-$15 fish plate that was fresh and delicious, but I suppose there’s a first time for everything. The mocha shake was equally delicious, albeit small. Food came out shockingly fast for how good the food was, and the folks behind the counter were very friendly. The cherry on top was fresh tasting ice water, which isn’t always a given these days. I will definitely be coming back here during my stay.
