Delizios

Excellent service and food! Everything is extremely high quality and homemade, from the sauces to the gnocchi. We had the cheese plate as an appetizer and it was a VERY generous cheese plate, complete with high end cheeses, fresh crostini's, fruit and jam. The beef bourguignon was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The decadent Kentucky bourbon pecan pie was drizzled with a homemade carmel sauce. The waiters were knowledgeable, attentive and genuine. The restaurant itself was nice, clean, felt very Italian. Do yourself a favor and give Delizios restaurant a try.

We went to Delizios for breakfast one time and it was lovely. Nice atmosphere, quiet and quaint. My boss loves it and said he enjoys dinner there so we decided to go for our 21st anniversary. Let me first say that my husband has 20 years working in a kitchen and that I myself have been a prep cook so when we spend money to eat out we have high expectations because in general we can make just about everything better at home. Well unfortunately Delizios was one disappointment after another. First off our server forgot our salads completely, we never got them our dinner was just served. We ordered the filet, when I order a $20 filet I expect a prime cut of meat, butter tender trimmed completely of all fat and silver skin. The filets we received were dismal, Full of fat and not the good kind that makes a steak tender, also the silver skin was left on and if you know anything about trimming a filet then you know this ruins the meat! Half of it was not edible . Second I ordered mine mid-rare, it came rare, the chef kindly said he would re-do it, which I respect however they were out of cheddar mash so my choice was mashed sweet potatoes. I love sweet potatoes- no problem! They also told us desert would be on the house due to the mistake. Nice that they tried to rectify the situation however more mistakes followed. My filet which I will say was a better cut of meat at least was now cooked well done! The so called sweet potatoes, and trust me I know the difference I cook sweet potatoes at home all the time, well these were mashed canned yams devoid of flavor. They were apologetic, we ordered desert, my favorite Tiramisou. Desert was delicious however it was not on the house like we were told, only one dessert was comped. When I am told on the house I assume it is for both of us. Such a disappointment because going out is not something we get to do often due to finances and we wasted $90 here when we could have cooked ten times the meal at home for a fraction of the cost. Delizios you seriously need to consider getting a professional chef and please never ever slap your patrons in the face by serving sub par food for top dollar, ie. canned yams. Unfortunately we will not return, this place is one of the reasons the big chains excel above the little guys. Next time I want a good steak I will be going to The Outback!
