Vesper Bar

We arrived in London at 10pm and our hotel restaurant wasn't open, so we knew immediately where to head, The Vesper Bar in The Dorchester. The staff is always top notch and our bartender, Denise was really nice. I had a delicious petite steak sandwich and my wife truffle pizzette which she talked about for days. We were so happy to return to this lovely bar!

Simply fantastic. We visited for my girlfriends birthday - just for drinks. Booking was simple, but on a Thursday evening I would say it wouldn't be necessary. We were greeted with two complimentary cocktails - absolutely not expected but really appreciated. A very nice touch. The complimentary snacks were also delicious and again, a great touch. The staff were incredibly good, attentive but not over the top. Refilling your drinks and snacks when they become empty without you even noticing. The cocktails were good, but not exceptional. Really flavourful but lacked the real "spark" you would expect for the price. The setting is exceptional with the music at the correct volume and the décor plush and comfortable. Perfect when you want to push the boat out a little for drinks, but I would say the prices were reasonable all things considered. Would definitely visit again.

We tried the temperance drink “listen to the music ” and “let’s go back to the time”. I would say “music” is nicer, and I can picture a lady with a drink enjoying her night. “go back to the time” the presentation was fun, but not sure it actually brought you the childhood memory, the taste was bit lacking the naughty part.

Unbelievably good cocktails, but they do not come cheap. There are some old favourites that they do exceptionally well then a host of surprises. All served in beautiful glassware and an ample supply of olives and nuts. Service was impeccable. My only criticism - the brown decor. It looks extremely tired and dated, not expecting modern chic and I can’t place the look but it doesn’t exude old glamour.
