Prawn On The Lawn

Small contemporary seafood restaurant perfect for an anniversary dinner. I highly recommend going a bit earlier when it is less crowded. I thought the service was much better earlier in the night when they weren't so busy. The service overall was still good. Food wise - I loved how the portion sizes weren't so large that we could try a bunch of dishes. We started with oysters and bread with seaweed butter. I would have eaten a whole tub of the butter. We moved on to scallops, monkfish, roasted cauliflower, and octopus. All amazing, but what makes me a bit sad is they change their menu as soon as they run out of something, so I probably won't be able to come back and have the same dish. We watched them change their menu twice in the same night. (Definitely not a bad thing, but I do like being able to come back to a restaurant and get my favorite dishes). One tip - order everything at the beginning. Because they do tend to run out of dishes, make sure you reserve one (or two) for your table!

Visited for dinner. Our special, last-night-in-London dinner did not disappoint. Fresh oysters and the Bream Ceviche were the prize winners, but all of the small dishes we tried were delicious. With the exception of the BBQ mackerel with black spice. The black spice turned out to be every black spice they have in the kitchen, liberally sprinkled onto the fish. Created a bitter taste. But back to the oysters and ceviche. The oysters were fantastically fresh from Maldon and Jersey, and there is something about peruvian ceviche, bright and fresh, that really makes it fantastic. San Francisco has a Peruvian seafood restaurant that also makes a really delicious ceviche. Perhaps the next food craze?

A lovely weekday lunch with my wife. The place is small, and was quickly full, so glad we came early as we hadn't booked. There is a laid back atmosphere here, with good service. The plates of seafood are small, so we ordered several. It was all very tasty. £100+ for lunch for 2 without alcohol is a bit much, but since it was full nonetheless, they're obviously doing something right. I'll be back. Just not that often!

4.5 stars. Get in with crackingly good food. Minus 1/2 star for the price - why is London so expensive! Enjoyed a Cornish negroni and some oysters to start. Then had the wild sea bass classically cooked with lemon, garlic and thyme with a plate of greens and spiced potatoes. Awesome... Simply awesome. Great produce cooked really well. Seating is a bit tight but fine. Best off booking as not many seats available. If you are a no show they will charge you which is fair enough. £150 for 2. Ouch but better for the experience.
