The Game Bird

We thoroughly enjoyed Afternoon Tea at the Game Bird. The staff made our anniversary celebration particularly special. The service, menu and presentation of the Tea were all exceptional. Sandwiches and tea cakes were absolutely delicious, made with high quality ingredients which brought a decadence to every bite!

Tl;Dr Best Sunday Lunch in London, probably one of the best meals I can remember. Everything was perfect, from the beautiful room to the attentive service through to the food itself. Brioches to start (delicious), Tomato Consumee was sublime, Coronation Chicken (a chicken wing) delicious, the grouse with pate and game chips was sensational and the beef roast was just spectacular - slabs of the finest beef carved tableside with perfect spuds and Yorkshire pudding. We finished up with Pavlova (excellent) and Crepe Suzette also prepared tableside. Honestly one of the best meals I've had in London if not globally.

Amongst top 5 restaurants in the world I have ever tried. Service is warm and professional. Not invasive with just the right level of engagement to clients. You don’t feel in one of those stiff restaurants where they want to make you feel you are in an expensive through snobbish attitude. The food and wines absolutely delicious. Great sommelier with wide and deep knowledge. I will definitely go back.

Can I give 6 stars for service? I would! Cromton was our server and was so so amazing. Friendly, attentive, and very helpful. He made our visit so enjoyable. The food was wonderful. We had a traditional cream tea with sandwiches to die for and cakes that were amazing! Such a highlight of our trip. Gluten free option for my companions were perfect! Highly recommended!

Wow this place is so beautiful and classy. My husband had JUST flown in from JFK, this was our first meal in London and I’m so glad it was at The Game Bird. Our waiter was friendly and the food was equal parts comforting, warm and elegant. It was just the soothing balm my husband needed coming off a red-eye.

Just had dinner there for my birthday. Not only were they open on Sunday night, which is rare for a lot of top restaurants in the area, but the service was attentive and the menu full of things we couldn't get back in the states. Everything from the drinks to the surprise birthday cake slice at the end were five star quality. The Venison Wellington was so tender it melted, yet the crust remained firm and flaky and the sides tasted like their own meals. We got our money's worth and I hope you do too!

Firstly i would like to thank all the staff at The Game Bird restaurant at The Stafford Hotel, they are all amazing. We started our fabulous meal with 4 Pyefleet Oysters, amazingly fresh and perfectly prepared. For main, I had 'The Game Bird' (of course) which consisted of the Roast Squab Pigeon, Buttered Turnips, Apple Puree, Bacon & Garden Herb Barley Risotto all of which was absolutely beautifully cooked and looked amazingly presented on the plate. My daughter went for the Tomato Consomme which looked and smelled amazing, so pretty on the plate and then the Steak and Ale Steamed Suet Pudding with Triple-Cooked Chips! I went for the Purgatori red wine from Catalonia, again gorgeous and fruity although my palatte is not as educated as most. Dessert i always go for the cheeses as im not really a sweet tooth. Again a lovely array of British Cheeses carefully selected accompanied by seeded crackers. A big thumbs up to all the staff under the direction of the Executive Chef Jozef Rogulski fanatstic job as always and always the finest attention to detail. Fine dining at it's highest level!!!
