Tomoe

We lived in Putney for several years and heard a few positive feedbacks from friends about Tomoe; however, did not have much opportunity until last month. I had a chance to pop in for lunch; the restaurant was full; however, asked whether I could sit at the bar on the right-hand side next to the entrance; the staff are always very accommodating (went back again for exactly the same dishes – Prawn Tempura Bento. It was as nice as the first experience, the staff are very accommodating again because I was a bit late for their lunch service. The quality of the foods stands out and the ambience does make me wonder whether it would be the same in Japan (one of the countries that I wish to visit). Therefore, if anyone lives near here, I would like to encourage all to try Tomoe. I enjoy mine a lot and will go back for more soon. Just noticed, their opening hours are quite limited. This is best Japanese restaurant in south west london. As myself Japanese, I highly recommend here as authentic Japanese restaurant. Sushi chef is real one. All dishes nice but I particularly like Tekka Maki 鉄火巻 tuna roll. They use lots of tuna than rice. I personally called Over flow tuna roll. Delicious. Staff also kind and well trained. They have menu with some picture and easy to order too. Children friendly.

We are local and have been wanting to try this place for ages - we finally made it for a birthday celebration and it didn’t disappoint. Quality and taste of the food is excellent, we had a selection of sushi plus some house kimchi which was so fresh. £120 for 3 people including tip and a drink each. There are also affordable sushi sets/platters for sharing. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. They even brought a thoughtful dessert (green tea ice cream) with a candle for the birthday girl.

This is a little gem we used to go to about 5 years ago. Went for dinner after a long time finally on Saturday night and sat on the bar. Was a wonderful experience to see the passion and the hard work of the sushi chef in front of us as well as a very hard working and charming team. The food was the best Japanese food that we had in London. Sushi was delicious and fresh, everything was beautifully presented and flavours were authentic and spot on. ありがとうございます！

The most delicious Japanese restaurant in all London! We had 2 salads, miso soup and a sushi box. The quality of the food is the same as you would have in Japan. The taste, flavours and smoothness is unbelievable. I highly recommend any food lovers to come and try this amazing find in the heart of Putney. I will be back for more.
