Gallery Mess Restaurant And Bar

I am a local, so maybe I am bias....... But this place is sooooooo good! The Duke of York is no doubt a nice place to hang out. And next to the Saatchi gallery there is this Gallery Mess Restaurant that is not to be missed. Superb location, excellent view, stiff drinks 🤣🤣, good food and lovely International up-scale patrons. This establishment has obviously given this former military school a new life, and a more glamorous one! Service can be improved. But, hey, nobody is perfect, right?

Every time I am in London I make it a “thing” to go to Saachi Gallery after having a quick bite at Gallery Mess. I’ve done a couple of times already. Sometimes I just sit for a cappuccino that is also delicious, other times I’ve sat outside with some friends, and another time I did some work inside while sipping wine. I love their French fries and their rosé wine selection. It’s hard to not get succumbed for one more glass while watching people coming and going from the Gallery next door. This time around I had the pleasure to meet Mario, the manager of the place. We had a nice talk and my food was delicious. They offer 10% discount for Saachi Gallery’s members.

I have had a great experience in Gallery mess after being recommended by a friend. The food was really delicious. Staff was so amazing particularly, our waiteers Luwam was friendly as she approached us and looked after us very well during our time in the restaurant. I definetly recommend revist to this restaurant.

Really enjoyed the seafood sharing plate, especially the lovely smoked eel which was set and delicate. Accompanying artisan bread also at beautifully with the mackerel pate. Service could have been more sparkling, there was a somewhat disorganised air about the coordination of the serving staff that was rather a shame. Setting is light and airy but maintains an intimate feel and the art pieces are interesting and varied.
