Sager + Wilde

A group of us visited for a birthday recently. Wow! The service amazing, friendly and fast. The food was so flavoursome, every dish was interesting. Some with complex flavours that rewarded the adventurous, others were just simple yet very tasty. It's clear they use great ingredients. The wine selection is good. We tried orange wine, which some liked a lot. The staff know the menu and their wine knowledge is great. We sat outdoors with our dogs, it felt like a lovely little green paradise in busy London. I highly recommend a visit!

Fabulous selection of wines but careful, your choice can make the meal a bit too expensive. Menu is short but very well cook. It was super quiet when went there so had a good chat with the hostess who helped us with the wine. Very nice place but if you are a fuzzy eater maybe not for you. (Men toilets were broken so there was a queue for the only one available, every single time.)

A cozy, dimly lit restaurant under a train. Perfect for a date night in East London. I wouldn't walk here, but once you get here, it's a very cool little spot. You can hear the train rumble, but it isn't loud enough to really be a bother. We went with the chef's menu, which was an assortment of the a la carte menu. Our favorites were the ricotta, the spaghetti, and dessert. The service was great. The sommelier suggested the perfect wine. The host and waitresses were all polite and cheerful too!

We really enjoyed our dinner here on Friday night. I've been before in the summer and it's great with the outside tables but the inside is also really nice and cosy. The waitress' were helpful in explaining the dishes and any questions we had. Between the two of us, we shared the ricotta with tomato, with some focaccia (really nice), smoked beetroot, tardivo and hazelnut creme (great crunch and flavour), crayfish with agretti and fennel (fresh), veal with risotto and bone marrow (rich but good), venison with horseradish and some greens (meat was perfectly cooked and flavours worked well) and ricotta rhubarb fritelli which was tasty.
