Soho's Secret Tea Room

Very overpriced tea place. Service is not great either, the waitress came to take our order but her phone rang right as she asked us what we wanted. She then took the call and chatted loudly with a friend for nearly a quarter hour, and we eventually had to flag down a different waitress. The Full Tea is £25 per person and comes with “sandwiches” but by that they mean a single sandwich cut into four pieces. And by “sandwich” they mean a slice of cucumber between two pieces of white bread. The scones were dry and far from the best we’ve had in London. For £25 I would expect far better service and food.

What a shame. Ive been there 3 times. The last one was traumatizing. First, you can't make reservations for a group of less than 10 which means when you get there you will have to wait. I was already expecting that. Once we finally got to seat (4ppl) the lady that was setting up the table asked if we were having hot food which I said no, just tea. The older lady came rushing and said I had told her I wanted hot food which I didn't. They set up the table for tea and I kindly asked the older lady "last time I was here I had a tea which had flowers on it do you know which one is it?" The lady replied " how would I know I wasn't here". Just to continue our "lovely" experience the same lady removed one of the tea cups because it was very stained. And she never brought another one! Once we got the 2 afternoon teas I figured out that the tea I liked from my last visit it's called rose buds, and luckly, not thanks to the server I ordered again this time. I have to say the scones were the only good food we got. The mini sandwiches were only cucumber, no variety! I was very dissapointed with the service and I felt humiliated in front of my friends that were experiencing afternoon tea for the first time. Like I said, what a shame I won't be coming back.

Honestly this was so disappointing. We arrived and the staff were very friendly but super stressed and weren’t really communicating with us very much. They were out of 3 out of 7 of their dishes, and also said they had no chips whilst they were serving chips which was so confusing. It was super overpriced for the portion we got, and we were left without teacups or teaspoons for most of our time there. It was an interesting experience and the staff were really nice, but it was just super disappointing.
