Angtong Thai

The lunchtime meal deal here is top value for money. The best you could possibly find in Barnet. The £11 meal includes a starter, main course and a drink. The 2 of us ordered the Thai calamari and Thai sausages as starters - what a tastebud enticing start. We also added the Tom Yam Kung from the a la carte menu. Just as what we expected. Right amount of spiciness and aromatic herbs complement the fresh prawns. For the main courses, we had Chicken fried in a chilli and basil sauce, and Crispy pork belly fried with the same herbs. The fat in the pork was well-rendered. The flavours were well-balanced and harmonized with the right touch in saltiness. The green tea served here helps to refresh the palate as we savour different bits from each plate. The Chang beer from Thailand is also a fantastic companion to the meal. One of the lesser known brands from Thailand but a very pleasant taste to it especially with the aromatic, spicy food. On a final note of advice, have the starters and main course arrive together.
