Toby Carvery

After moving away from the area and not being near to a Toby Carvery, I was really looking forward to a visit here when we were back for a few days. It did not disappoint. The staff were all friendly and accommodating, the place is clean and cosy and the food was perfect! A decent serving of meat, gorgeous Yorkshires, great roasties, lots of lovely veggies and devine gravy. Thank you for living up to my high expectations!

The food was good value, the atmosphere, ambiance and layout was very conducive to our enjoyment. I was a little surprised that cod and chips were not on the menu, as I am a pescatarian, but understand that I am in a minority. If you are not doing this already in selected branches, perhaps you could experiment with other fish or fake meat 'cost viable' options, to compliment the existing carbohydrates on offer. It might be nice to offer oat milk as well as regular milk. I think it has a longer shelf life as well.

The mid week offer is amazing,we had carvery,drinks and a desserts for £27!!!!!The waitress(Irish,a beauty looks like Adele)was delightful and even refused a bigger tip we offered(unheard of!)A credit to this restaurant.The chefs were very nice too. All in all a surprising (for good reasons)experience.

What’s going on with this place? It used to be higher star average. It’s slipping. I used to only ever come here, passed 2 other Toby’s just to get here. Cos yes it’s the same food but it tastes so much better here, cos the chefs are happier here. Or used to be???? Please keep your chefs happy! It makes the food taste better. Please go back to being better.
