Goose Island Tap House

Reasonable beer, reasonable food and good service. The first thing you notice when entering is the smell of cooking meat. Coming inside on a chilly evening, a carnivore such as myself finds that an enticing aroma. Although the decor is reasonably contemporary the ambience was very pleasant, however the lighting level at the table is too low. It might be my age starting to take it's toll on my eyesight I had to resort to the torch function on my phone in order to read the menu, I tried a couple of different Goose Island beers available on tap and whilst they were easy to drink neither of them struck me as being anything special. At first glance I thought the food menu was going to be like the beers, but I was lucky because I decided to order the Crayfish Mac'n'Cheese which had an excellent flavour. The staff were pleasant and the service was good.
