Homies On Donkeys

I was there for the start of their journey back at Wood Street and like so many I followed them on their journey to Leytonstone. I didn’t think it possible but it’s better than ever, Smokey and co have done themselves and their culture proud and I’m so proud of them and honoured when they call me ‘homeslice’. Please come here, even if you’ve tried Mexican somewhere else I promise you this is THE authentic taste and experience you’ll never find elsewhere.

Super delicious and authentic tacos 🤤🌮 Absolutely loved the Carnitas and the Pork belly - tender, buttery meat with the perfect amount of sauce and jalapeños (on the Carnitas). The only dish that I didn't enjoy was the cheese quesadillas - mostly because they were made with corn taco shells rather than the flour tortillas; which meant that all the cheese fat was dripping all over the shell... Guess it's a taco place, so not sure why I ordered the quesadillas too. The place itself is huge and super colourful, the pictures don't do it justice. In terms of service, Ayeisha was the best - thank you for the friendly and kind service. Cannot say that everyone else was bothered with providing the same level of excellent customer service, but that doesn't change the taste of food right! Anyway, I would totally recommend this spot for some perfect tacos.

We came to celebrate a birthday. We went through quite a number of menu options, not to mention some delicious beers. We enjoyed amazingly delicious food at incredibly affordable prices. I highly recommend the beef marrow tacos! The service was attentive and informative without being intrusive. I loved the interior, which is both modern and fun. The background music added to the ambience of the decor while not intruding on our conversations. Had so much fun here! A great foodie experience, everything cooked to order and served with a smile. To summarise, great food, great prices, great service, a must go to place, we'll definitely be coming back. Thanks to everyone at Homies for Donkeys for a fantastic experience.

Excellent restaurant! Managed to book a table for two on a Wednesday just a few days before with no trouble. Service from all the staff was very pleasant. Food was all outstanding - favourites were the refried beans and the broccoli tacos. Meal for two with a pint (£6) and cocktail was £30 each and we were very full by the end!

Easy to find just 2mins from the central line station, cool easy going vibe. The service was friendly and fast, and the tacos were delicious and fresh. The tuna taco was especially amazing, with a perfect balance of spicy, tangy, and sweet flavours. The tuna was cooked to perfection, and the toppings were generous and tasty. I think this is the best taco place in London, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Mexican food.

I saw these guys featured on Leyton Love and had to try. I can understand why it's pretty much booking only!! My partner had Carnitas and Camaron Enchilado, both absolutely stunning and flavourful (only had a nibble of the Camaron and it was the best prawn based thing I've ever had.) Only slight gripe was the Carnitas being so juicy that his corn tortilla fell apart. He had no qualms with eating it anyway, too good not to. I had Tunita Pibil, and Brocolli tacos. I could have eaten the Tunita forever, I even decided to just firm it with my pineapple intolerance as it tasted so damn good. I ran out of belly space halfway through the brocolli ones. So so good. We shared a portion of refried beans with freshly made tortilla chips, and it was heavenly. My first experience of fresh chips, and I'm sold. We also had Mezcal Margaritas which were smokey and interesting but a touch pricey for my taste. Next time I'm definitely trying a Paloma! Anyone round East London way should visit and have a lovely munch! I could die fat and happy at this moment in time.
