The Beehive

Lovely LOVELY pub. Nice for a big get together or an intimate drink. Airy outside space and cosy indoor space. The drinks are always served with a smile and the food is incredible. It was here, where for the first time I have ordered a vegetarian roast and enjoyed it. It was the first time, as a vegetarian I went to a pub and felt as though the chef actually cared about the vegetarian food. The quality of the veg roast was marvellous. I’m blessed that it’s round the corner from our new house and it absolutely going to become our local. Would 100% recommend the vegetarian roast and the vegetarian burger.

First try of fish and chips in London and it did not disappoint. It was a large filet of cod with skin on and fried to perfection. The chips it came with were also excellent. I tried mushy peas for the first time and while the flavor wasn't bad, it isn't something I enjoy. Got to watch some snooker while eating and having a pint which was great as well.

A welcoming community pub with a mixed clientele reflecting the area. They have good range of drinks including an impressive array of malts and other spirits. They have three hand pumps, but only one, the Doombar was on, on the two afternoons I visited. It is why I have only given a four, although the Doombar itself was top notch. We ate on both occasions and the food, from the burgers to the fish and chips and the Sunday roast were all excellent, well cooked and presented.

Good burgers and a generous portion size for the sweet potato fries. Delicious. We went there as a bit group with 7 babies and prams and were very well accommodated for. The only thing is that there is no formal changing station for children, with a changing mat balanced somewhat precariously on a window sill!

Excellent pub grub! Very much enjoyed my visit here, had the Lamb burger with Harissa which was very tasty, only gripe was that it maybe could have been a little spicier, but was cooked just how I’d like. The reason I’ve given 4* however is because of the general pub atmosphere which was overrun by loud annoying children and drunken chav men (even at 2pm). I also saw my girlfriends meal (roast beef) and I was very glad I didn’t order it as it was pretty average. I felt staff could have acted to try and reduce noise levels from certain customers but general service good. Would have been 3.5* if possible but closer to a 4 than a 3 for me.

I can't recommend The Beehive pub enough for your cosy and friendly pub needs! A group of us from work went here for our Christmas party and we were so well looked after by Alex and his team. The music and atmosphere is excellent and I have also heard from friends that the Sunday roast is fantastic. I'll definitely be back and huge thanks to Alex for taking such good care of our group!!

Very friendly, great selection of spirits, very welcoming to the pup too which was a pleasant surprise. A tiny bit disappointed the Beehive doesn't stock any honey beer despite the name ;) but can always get that down the road at the White Bear. Or the honey mead by Gosnells in Peckham, that would be so, so, so good!!! Overall, really friendly, warming atmosphere, enjoyed first visit, many more to come I am sure. Thanks Beehive!
