Golden anchor is a lovely venue which caters for the black community. The last Saturday in the month was my last visit 4tune FM radio DJs were gracing the decks playing some sweet tunes of the reggae, rare groove, RnB and soul genre's. My friend and I danced the night away after eating some lovely Jamaican patties with wedges to work the food off ,obviously! 😏.My community doesn't have many clubs left this place is a great place for raving as I did in my 20s ,30s and 40s ,loved it !!

I go here for the clothes swaps and the otjernkihht for a disco. It's a good pub with a welcoming atmosphere.

Lively pub tucked away, met the chef new chef lovely guy, staff were lovely felt like I'd been coming here for years they really aim to please.

We stopped by on this rainy afternoon on the way home as I really needed to use the loo, stayed for a pint and...I really loved the atmosphere!
The place seems to have been recently revamped, it was extremely clean and you could see how much the owners/staff care for it by the attention to each detail in the furniture and decorations.
There's a real wood fire and some classic reggae tunes were playing in the background (hadn't heard Beres Hammond in a pub in ages and my heart just melted).
Haven't tried their food but will surely be back for that and some Saturday night jam!

Had the Wednesday special bangers and mash, onion gravy. Did not expect it to taste so good. Great friendly staff and service. Will definately be frequenting this establishment again. I also think Fridays is Jerk night, so my visit back may be quite soon.

Lovely old time pub with a modern twist . Drinks are reasonably priced . The Caribbean menu looks great for the next time we visit Peckham . The landlady was nice and super friendly

Still seen as a pub for the local West Indian drinkers but it's long way from old guys playing dominoes stereotype of my youth. Great service, decent pint of Guinness. Lots of seats inside and out. To sum up its a good boozer, not as "fake" as some of pubs in the area, and I like that.
