Always good on deliver if you take into account peak times, even then they still nail the delivery. Food is by far the best Chinese takeaway in the area, it’s actually well balanced, not too sweet. Portion size is great. Only negative I can honestly say from everything we’ve had is the gyoza pastry could be a bit thinner and less doughy, but that’s really it.

Best Chinese in South West London. Been going to this place for years, amazing value for money as the food is some of the best Chinese me and my family have ever had! Delicious big menu with lots of choice so there’s something for everyone. Staff are so friendly and delivery is always on time. Recommend the Singapore Style Noodles and the Chicken and cashew nuts in yellow bean sauce!

Thus is a local favourite, have been coming here for many years. They have a good selection on the menu to tempt your taste buds. Staff are generally welcoming, it's nice to see China Chef is very much part of life in Barnes and especially in Whitehart Lane. Always a treat when l don't fancy cooking.

Where do I start?! Yesterday my boyfriend and I, decided to christen my first Chinese takeaway experience. As a severe peanut and nut allergy sufferer, I have avoided Chinese takeaways all my life. Then there is the China Chef. Situated in this cute and quaint area of Barnes, we ventured there for 7 PM. The service was so quick and effective. And the phone orderers were still coming through whilst we were there - a clear sign of how great the food must be! Our order was a mix of Malaysian and Chinese food - the menu is vast, and there are Thai, Malaysian and your traditional chip options! Whilst speaking with the owner - who by the way, is just so cool! I met someone who ordered, who's Grandson also suffered with a Nut Allergy and again my fear of not being "safe" so-to-speak, was put at ease. Our food arrived, within minutes of ordering, we were even asked how we like our duck! Added bonus. Duck pancakes, were traditional - full of flavour and broke off the bone, whilst still retaining a crispy outer skin. Just the way we like it! My boyfriend, simply LOVED the chicken curry with rice - a great blend of spices without compromising on heat. We have often found that when we eat out a curry is either hot or has too many flavours. China Chef got it just right - and I had to endure a "OMG it's just like back home" speech for the whole duration of our dinner. For me personally, the vegetables were a huge hit! Not too brothy - a great mix of baby corn, pakchoi, mushrooms, carrots and the juicy prawns! My first Chinese takeaway experience was a 11/10. Both my boyfriend and I are so pleased to have discovered this hidden gem and cannot wait to order again! THANK YOU.
