Commissary

A hidden gem for a quiet drink in the canal. Much quieter than other nearby pubs. Large projector screen to watch sports, and a large floating outdoor area to enjoy a drink. Especially good when the weather is nice. Access from a black gate on the food bridge between canalside square and packington street (to the west on the map)

A hidden gem of the Regents Canal! Not very easy to find, as you have to get through the courtyard from Eagle Wharf Road and then through the locked gate (easily unlocked by ringing the bell), however, once you've discovered this place, it's very difficult to stop coming back again and again. Floating terrace makes you feel as if you are on a boat. Tranquil atmosphere. I loved watching canal birdies floating by, while we were having our lunch in the sunshine. Excellent fresh food, generous portions, reasonably priced. I really enjoyed my "The Commissary" panini sandwich, which came with perfect fries (bonus!). It's a shame they don't serve food after 19:00. Excellent service! There are plenty of big round outdoor tables with umbrellas to save you from the hot sun or rain :) Indoors area is nicer and cosy.

Quite pricy considering it's way out in the middle of nowhere and not on a high footfall area. They have a good range of choices on the menu for food. They start at a club sandwich but the menu changes every day. They need to keep their cleaner busier with the loos by far. Disappointing and really let the front end down. They should sacrifice some cubicles for bigger cubicles.
