Food is never consistent. Sometimes ok. Never great. More often than not it’s horrible. Prices have also gone up and are a lot more expensive than other Chinese take aways in the area. Do your own research. What other Chinese take away charges £4.50 for EGG FRIED RICE? It’s just egg and rice. Absolutely extortionate. Their meals in a box are also ridiculously expensive and they are not even in large containers. Charged me £8.10 for sweet and sour pork and egg fried rice in a single (SMALL) container - not the normal large round containers you get from ALL other places. This is no more than £6.5 from ANY other Chinese take-away in the area. Complete joke will NEVER go back after today. People who Rate this food have no taste buds and/or just cannot cook. Can’t believe this place has been here so long - disgrace to oriental cuisine.

I have ordered from China Express several times, be it direct or from an Online Takeaway, and have always been pleased with the food. The staff are efficient and the food is good in portion, quality, and value. Reviews are based on opinion so I find it funny how some reviewers (despite having only contributed very little) disregard the opinion of others simply because they do not agree with them. Personally I think China Express is one of the best Chinese Takeaways in the area which is reflected by the amount of customers they have and the many years they have been in business. I would really recommend to try for yourself and make your own opinion.

OLD OIL RUBBERY MEAT STALE FOOD GREASEY RICE DISGUSTING IF YOU TRY IT ONCE YOU WON'T GO BACK I CALLED THEM TO COMPLAIN AND THEY SAID SORRY WE FRY OUR RIBS NEXT TIME WE MAKE IT BETTER AHA HAHAHA what happened to our trading standards or health and safety visitors in this country??? COME BACK PLEASE ALL IS FORGIVEN WE NEED YOU

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had! Wish I could give less than 1 star! The salt & chilli prawns were covered in a very thick batter, very oily full of fresh onions and a couple slices of chilli! The sauce in the sweet & sour spare ribs was very runny, too sweet and also full of fresh onions! No egg in the egg fried rice! Just nasty dishes never ordering from the again!

My mum went into the shop and purchased a takeaway and the food was too hard to eat so she took it back into the restaurant to politely explain that we could not eat it and the reasons why. The chef came out and without introducing herself was smirking, telling my mum that that is what she asked for. My mum had to explain to them that she is a paying customer and that we could not eat it because the food is physically too tough to eat. Finally they offered to redo the food by which time my mum had lost so much faith in them by their smirking and general unprofessional way they dealt with her complaint that she just asked for a refund. The chef then walked into the kitchen and was shouting to the other chefs obviously complaining about my mother but they were not speaking in English so my Mum asked them not to speak about her behind her back and explained that her complaint was just. A male chef was by then in the kitchen screaming and stamping his utensils down on the cooker which my mum could see from the reception area and my mum became so scared and intimidated by the hostile and aggessive attitude that she had to leave. We will be contacting trading standards and just eat as well because this is alarming!!!!!!

Usually a 5star from me but today they gave me stale chips with my meal that tasted like they been fried twice and then microwaved they gave me new chips but they were just as bad! They refused to give me a refund or offer an alternative so im now out of pocket. The woman on the phone also told me that they hadnt changed the oil since the day before and that was obvious in the food that I ordered today. Poor qaulity and an even poorer service avoid!
