Kermenshah Restaurant

Delicious food and wonderfully friendly husband-and-wife hosts. My Iranian mother tells me that the meat is excellent. I'm vegetarian and there aren't many options so I rang in advance and asked them to make a few of the dishes without meat, which they did. The portions are generous (we always end up having to take food home) and the prices are very reasonable. The bread, which is baked in a traditional Iranian fire oven, is delicious. This is a new venue and fully deserves support.

Search around the area and amongst the basic cafes and coffee shops you will find a few very good quality eateries. Kermanshah now adds to that list offering diversity from the others with deliciously fresh, fragrant Iranian food. There are the firm favourites such as Houmous and grilled meats with flavorsome crispy soft breads made to order. The stews are unique to the cuisine and let's your taste buds explore the various spices and blends (had the Ghormeh Sabzi). However if the passionately and generously prepared food was not enough the 'staff' display a hospitality that is so often missing in some restaurants today. They make you feel as if nothing is too much to ensure you enjoy your visit. Lucky for us it is close to home but it is well worth a drive to experience and there is ample free parking nearby in the evenings. Welcome to Holloway Kermanshah.

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing, fresh and tender on every occasion we have been here. Husband and wife team serve Persian food with soul. Delighted with the full flavours and presentation. I have been to many Persian restaurants in London and this competes with the best. The tandoor oven produces some sensational sesame bread, and the torshi pickles are distinctive and morish. I am already planning to head back!
