Takagiya

As I'm writing this review, I've just returned from Takagiya - without a doubt, the best Japanese restaurant I have ever been to. The rhythm at which the food was served a symphony. The flavours, perfectly refined and every dish, a fine craft. The aubergine with saikyo and hachou miso sauce was a standout; the duck and sea bass were exceptional. If you're accessible to London and you have a taste for Japanese food, please consider Takagiya for an experience you will remember .

Really beautiful spot, staff are lovely, interior is gorgeous. Food was pretty good, feel I have had better Japanese food at cheaper restaurants. £12.50 for the miso aubergine, for instance, felt pretty steep for an ok small plate. Presentation of the food was great, lots of really sweet Japanese crockery which I enjoyed ! Thank you :)

We had a lovely dinner and catch up with friends. A group of six people and we had the chance to hear each other speaking, unlike other London restaurants, which can be too noisy. We absolutely loved the food there, but my personal favourites were the sashimi platter as well as the beef steak. Of the sashimi dishes, I loved scallop sashimi the best. But the sashimi is super fresh and soft, one of the best I've had in London. The staff is also super nice. Highly recommended restaurant, will want to come again soon!

Loved in the UK 6 years now, I’d say it’s the best restaurant I’ve even been to. Love the atmosphere, decorations in store and not to mention the food is FABS. When I first saw the menu was a bit disappointed because there isn’t that many options, but soon I am so glad I stayed. Ordered eggplant, Beef Don, Salmon Karaage and dumplings, and Plum wine everything were amazing. Never been to a restaurant with every single thing I ordered comes out 10/10. Don’t really leave comments for restaurant but this one is worth it!!!

Impeccably cooked from the freshest ingredients. Authentic and unique flavours that just kept me wanting more. We got the chicken karaage, salmon cheek, black cod, clams and beef don and all of them were amazing. It’s so rare to find a restaurant with such consistent quality across all dishes! Will definitely come back
