Elsie's Pie & Mash

Wow what a local gem! The ladies were so good! They weren't bothered that we came in at the end of the day! Been meaning to come in for so long. The jellied eels weren't my thing but my partner loved them. The pie and mash was great. Would recommend getting double mash if you're hungry! Always found the 'mystery meat' element of pie shops fascinating 😆 We were impressed that the parsley sauce was traditional liquor and the service was decent! We enjoyed so much that we had the cherry pie for dessert too!

Feeling very optimistic about life once again after a quick google for local Pie & Mash and discovering Dave serving up a proper bit of pie & mash from his tastefully authentic shop called Elsie’s. (Bet there’s a story regarding the name). It was spot on, the atmosphere, the banter and the taste. From an ole cockney fella who has been eating Pie & Mash since a nipper, for more than 60 years, this is on par, and better than most of the recognised eateries around south & east London. Good luck Dave, glad you sorted out yer stiff mits!

I usually go to manzie's or arments and whenever I try other pie mash shops it's not the same the pies are never as good etc Was working local and thoughtI would give it a try. I'm so glad I did the lady behind the counter was very pleasant I had a double double with liquor, due to the restrictions she put on my salt and vinegar and pepper. The pies was superb and the mash nice and creamy although I prefer it not being in scoops Well definitely be coming in again when I'm not dieting lol if you are in the area give it a try you won't be disappointed

I order 21 pies , mash and liquor from Elsie’s Pie and Mash for my son’s 21st birthday celebration. I was highly recommended to the pie shop by a friend and was not disappointed. The pies were perfect with a meaty moist filling wrapped in perfectly cooked pastry. Mash excellent, liquor spot on. The order was ready to pick up bang on time as arranged. Great service from Dave and his lovely team.

I popped in here last Saturday morning just as they were opening. I ordered double pie mash and liqueur x2 eat in and take away. I had been in Manzies deptford high st the day before and you know anything about pie mash....that's the home of it.Well I've got news for you they've moved and changed there name to Elsie s absolutely fantastic from start to finish ...absolutely flawless. Keep up the great work I will be returning.
