The Rookery

A favorite spot to stop while visiting Macon each year. They have amazing burger choices and the fried pickles are delicious! I've been several times for dinner with friends and we are always greeted by the hostess. The service has always been great, too. We went with a friend with very specific dietary needs who brought her own food. They allowed her to eat her own food without any issues. In addition to amazing food, The Rookery is located in an historic building, so I recommend walking around the building to enjoy all the different features. My friend and I shared the burger of the month, which was a crazy garlic themed burger, and it was probably the best burger I've had! Highly recommend those fried pickles, too!

After many years of hearing about The Rookery I finally made it in. I wish I had not waited so long the food and service was great!! I had the Rookery Burger minus the bun (I’m eating low carb now). The meat was so good and fresh you could seriously taste the freshness to it! My friend and I also tried out the fried pickle Spears and they where delicious. They also were not greasy like at most places. Great atmosphere, I loved that over the years people have signed their names on the walls. I will definitely be going back!!

This was our first time here. It was a pretty cool experience. I was recommended the burger and it was very good. They had some weird things on the menu but it was good, definitely some original ideas. The atmosphere is really cool. Over the years people have signed the walls and table. I think it give character. We will definitely be back, especially if being in walking distance to the auditorium.

Heading down to the Bass Pro Shop in Macon on Saturday night and a good friend recommended us to eat at the Rookery for dinner. Great suggestion and we really enjoyed it. Excellent service and the burgers are amazing. Britney our server was extremely helpful and did a great job. Highly recommend the Dr. John burger with rings! Five stars for both food and service!
