Cargo Coffee

I've been living near this little cafe for years. I love the space and the atmosphere. Prices are about average for non-starbucks cafes in the Madison area. I recommended their iced tea and their soups. I'd recommend going there during the early or evening hours. Students and professionals really like to park themselves there.

☕ I hemmed and hawed over all the delightful vegan options in the pastry case here at Cargo Coffee (lemon poppyseed muffins, peanut butter bar, cowgirl cookies), and in the end all I wanted was oatmeal. So delicious and didn't need the sugar because of the sweet cherries and almonds. I am reminded that Cargo, IMHO, has the BEST almond milk latte in town. Additionally, the manager (Candy) here is so accommodating, and when I asked if the Gotham bagels were vegan, she ran and got the ingredients list for me (some are, some not). Other options include a case of juices and other beverages, smoothies such as a green mango or red berry, blended drinks, sandwiches and soups that are sometimes vegan, "Green Wrap" with house-made hummus that can be made vegan, and a PBJ on local sourdough. Great service, great food and AWESOME coffee.

Went here this morning foe the first time. Wanted to try a new coffee place, Starbucks and dunkin are boring now. Based on the reviews I was excellent I ordered a 20oz coffee large I'm assuming and a lemon muffin. First off muffin was as dry as a biscuit.. amd coffee was awful I did put cream and sugar in it didn't ask if I wanted anything else. The girl who helped was a zombie from another planet it seemed like no personality. And the put my straw in for me sp they touched my straw in the middle of a pandemic kinda weird. So I guess what I'm saying is I'll stick with the boring Starbucks and dunkin
