Orient House

My spouse and I have now ordered takeout from Orient House a few times, via DoorDash. The food always arrives hot, or at least as hot as can be expected given the travel times. Orders are correct, portions are generous, sometimes very much so. So far, we have been most impressed with the various dumplings, dim sum and red bean offerings, and least impressed with what you might call the 'traditional Chinese takeout' food, like General Tso's or Orange Chicken (pictured here). The latter tend to taste well enough, but be fairly dry. Still, on the whole, better than average for takeout, and a very wide ranging menu means lots of opportunities to find new things we enjoy.

DONT EAT HERE!!!. Please save your time and money and don’t even try to eat here. By far the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Everything is cooked hours ago and soggy. We ordered three different things and it’s literally the same exact thing but with different toppings. They put no effort into their food and if you do order here you’ll be genuinely let down. ( All of the food went right into the garbage.)

Worst (American-style) Chinese food I've ever had. Ordered the General Tso's Chicken combo (with fried rice and egg roll), fried dumplings and got some free crab rangoon. The Chicken was dry and had no sauce. The fried rice tasted burned. The eggroll was underfilled and under cooked, with an incredibly low-quality wrap. The "dumplings" were 6 inch long wads of ground pork loosely wrapped in soggy wrapping. I tried to pick one up and the enormous pork log fell out onto my lap. I didn't try the rangoons, but my friends that ate them were not impressed. The only palatable part of the meal was the fortune cookie, which tried to get to to go to an online sports betting parlor (lol). Really, really terrible. Took one bite of each dish, requested a refund and threw the rest away. Such a disappointment.

Went here Friday night to a completely empty restaurant. Ordered the soup dumplings, slow cooked beef brisket with potatoes, and a pepper dish (虎皮尖椒). Everything was excellent, especially the soup dumplings - the best I’ve had in town. Very extensive menu with American favorites and authentic dishes. I need to go back and try other things on their menu. Very attentive service and we were the only customers.

Amazing! I was very impressed! The server is very nice. Very Chinese styled. Will come back often for sure. The buns and the clear noodle as shown are all handmade. Excellent food. …………………… Okay, I was very angery and upset! Cause I really liked their food, I start to order delivery from them. As you can see above. I found a fly in my soup. A big black one! I was drinking out of their soup container, and I was half way to the bottom. I was disgusted, but wasn't really mad at the time. I called back, and I put the amount I paid for the soup as a store credit. I order once after that, I found nothing. I was really happy. Usually I only order their appetizers. I've been fine, so I wasnt really worried about their appetizers. . I made a big order soon after. Guess what, on the next day, when I was trying to finish the rest of my big order…… I found a gray hair in the lamb dish I ordered and pan scrub in my potatoes!! I was so disgusted I have to throw them away. They were off on that day, so I called them the following day. I never got a call back from their owner. I called them again the following week. Whoever picked up the phone told me to call again later that night. I really liked one of their appetizer which I 've been order it since the first time I ate there. I figured I'll only order appetizer from now,and only when I really want it. The server asked me,"Are you sure you want to order from us? I'm afraid that there's a problem for you again." Excuse me? Till now, I still didn't hear anything back from the owner. I never called back. The problem is not the money! The problem is the experience and the unrespected treatment.

Horrible unprofessional service. Told me I had to ask for help picking up my order when they stood there just looking and I decided to reach for my order. Didn't realize I had to ask, thought it was the other way around since I'm the paying customer. Definitely not coming back. Over priced food that wasn't very tasty and orange chicken didnt really taste orange. Better to try the restaurant next door if you want better food and service for the same price.
