Shish Kebob Mediterranean Grill

TLDR: Food was good, communication was not. I was lured into Shish Kabob (place behind Brusters Ice Cream) today for luch based on the sign that it was a Mediterranean Grill and a large BUFFET sign in the window, and I was starving like Marvin. I parked and walked up to the door only to see a smaller sign that said the buffet was only on Saturday and Sundays. I checked the menu and ordered two items off the lunch menu Gryo wrap ($6.99) and Large Salad ($2.99. When the plates came I was super impressed with how fantastic the "large salad" looked. It even came with chicken! It was delicious and I would totally order it again even for $7-10. The Gryo was a little bit dry for my liking but still a good value. When I paid the check I got charged for the "Greek Salad" ($7.99). I was also charged a "service fee" of 20% in addition to my tip. Having said all that I will probably still go back to check out their weekend buffet someday, and maybe even once in a while for their "Greek Salad".

Back in the day this place was awesome!! Now unfortunately it was not. We ordered some food for a big family during the month of Ramadan. After fasting a long day, we are ready to dive in and eat. Unfortunately, after eating this food that wasn’t fresh and tasted like it was reheated my family and I got extremely sick. I’ve been throwing up and sick to my stomach all day. The food quality was trash.

Hidden charge alert! Never returning to this place. We were two people only. They didn't inform us upfront that they add a service charge of 16% (in addition to tip) and charge $1.5 per water bottle while not having a free water option. I learned about these just after completing my transaction with a 16% tip. The large dining hall was almost empty and the owner/manager was serving the food. The delay in preparing the food was noticeable. We had to finish quickly for their delay since they close at 8:00 pm on Sunday contrary to many other places. I realized why this big place remained deserted on the father’s day weekend. They maintain this large restaurant by overcharging the first time customers who would probably never return like me. I wish the business can thrive by attracting more customers with good quality at reasonable price and not by overcharging a few unparticipating first time customers with hidden fees. If I would not have this experience I would give a rating of 4.0 for the food.

AVOID Mediterranean Shish Kabob on Lower Roswell Road in Marietta!!! They used to be located near the Big Chicken and when they were there, the food and service were good and the price was $12.95 for the buffet. About 6 months ago, they moved to the new location behind Bruster's on Lower Roswell just off South Marietta Parkway. The restaurant itself is much better, but the rest of it, not so much. They had far fewer selections on the buffet (notably the tenderloin, kashk-e-bademjoon, and desserts were no longer offered). The food is still good, but the variety was seriously lacking. The service was non-existent even though there were only two other customers besides me. I went in, seated myself, waited 10 minutes, then got up and helped myself to the buffet without seeing a server at all. Several servers walked past me as I was eating without asking if I needed anything or offering to get me a glass of water. Then when I finished, I had to wait another 10 minutes for someone to come out of the back, and I had to TELL him I was ready to pay although I was standing right at the cash register and he walked past me twice and would have walked past a third time had I not TOLD him I needed to pay. He did not ask me how the food nor service were, just told me it would be.... (GASP) $21.95 for ONE buffet! Needless to say, I will NOT be returning there, and if I want Persian food, I will drive to Sandy Springs and visit Persepolis.

The amount of unsanitary practices that occur in this restaurant is alarming!! All the food is left in OPEN AIR including the salad ALL DAY. The quality and the service was absolutely Atrocious!! Never returning to this place it is absolutely awful! For the price and set up it was one of the WORST experiences I’ve ever had and the staff had no consideration AT ALL expect for the payment. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND

Delicious food and sweet service. If you're scared of new experiences, let me Americanize it for you: kabob is amazingly grilled meat! I could eat the rice on the side all day, and the grilled vegetables were sooo tasty. I'll probably start coming here instead of cookout because I'm sure it's healthier too!
