Oporto

Oporto Mascot New Store opening was full of fun, with a meet & greet with Robbie Maddiaon. Let's not forget all the food, I tried the spicy rice with chicken and salad. A lot of flavour in their dishes with those incredible sauces 😏 I love their chips, a good amount of seasoning on them and their jalapeno bites are super crunchy with a good amount of heat 🔥

Prior to ordering UBER eats delivery, I called the Mascot store to ask they could send burgers, but put the filling separately so the burger was not soggy when we got it. The person said no and thought that was unreasonable. He stated that I could order a salad and a side of bread instead. I then called another Oporto store that did not think it was unreasonable at all. Especially after advising that I do this weekly for my office for 8 to 15 people. Great business decision Mascot store, I now have another Oporto store that I can do this with weekly and shall appreciate being loyal to. Yes I checked, although franchised, revenue stays with that individual franchise owner.

Was told by my colleagues this is one of the best Oporto around, it's not bad in a sense it have some good out door seating and the service is good for a fast food chain. Chips a bit disappointed, freshly fried but underdone. I know it's all depend on the fryer but one of the main reason going there is the chips.

Yum! The chilli cheese fries are awesome, it's citrusy and addictive. The rice bowl is really nice as well. Took longer than usual as they'd run out of sauce and had to get a fresh packet but please please get your staff a new pair of scissors!! Watching her struggle with opening the new bag of sauce with cheap/extremely cheap scissors was so comical and she was so apologetic but it wasn't her fault 😊

So as oportos go, this one is below average, but hope it improves over the next weeks. Service staff need a bit more training to get the order right, I can see how the comments of others about wrong orders could have happened. The double Bondi I got had a cold bun, not toasted enough, and as such the whole burger did not taste as it should, and hardly had any chilli sauce or mayo. However it came out lighting fast.

After receiving an incorrect order placed online and being told that it was entered wrong on the oporto system the manager offered to refund me my order of which I only got some chips and expected me to replace the order and pay the full amount (and wait the time for it to be delivered again). While talking to him on the phone and being nothing but polite he hung up on me. When I tried to call back my call was denied. This was so frustrating and disrespectful and I will be boycotting this store!!
