Donkey's Place Too

It was hard to even give 3 stars. Let me start by saying the staff was friendly and courteous. The place was very clean. That's about all the positive I can say. For the price we paid, and knowing what the Cheese steaks look like at Donkeys Camden, this was basically 1/3 of the meat, and very sorry excuse for sauteed onions. Not worth the price, and likely will never return.

Ordered a cheesesteak, small onion rings and a bottle of water. $19.93. Very little meat..onions undercooked..tons of extra grease. Meat had little flavor, maybe it was because there was not much of it at all. Onion rings were good. It's a shame when the onion rings are better than the sandwich. Oh the water was cold. I felt like I got ripped off. Screw them for serving such a lame lunch especially for 20 bucks.... Won't go back. Don't go there.unless you are on a diet and tou have extra cash laying around....

From what I hear this place serves the New Jersey style cheese steak and I haven't decided if it's fair to compare this one to the more traditional Philly cheese steaks. What I can say is they make a great tasting sandwich. A good portion of steak which isn't chopped up served with caramelized onions and a solid amount of cheese on a soft poppyseed kaiser roll. When eaten fresh the sandwich can be quite messy and juicy. If you're a fan of spicy you can add some spicy dry roasted peppers which give it a really strong kick. I don't live in the area, but would probably go often if I did. The staff is also super friendly!

Really struggled with the number of stars. They have really good sandwiches. Great flavor. Unfortunately the price has gone up so much over the past many years. Their hikes were not Covid related but rather being featured on the cooking shows and The Goldbergs. They are no longer worth the price. Where we used to come here twice a month and probably get almost 12+ sandwiches at a shot, we now come maybe once every 6 months and get 5 sandwiches. I guess when you can sell half the orders at twice the price it works for them 🙁

Love this place, go at least once a month and it never disappoints. Food is amazing, special shoutout to the onion rings! Open later than Camden so more accessible for us. Very fast, call about 15 minutes ahead for it to be ready when you walk in. Menu fits on a business card and after 10 sandwiches the 11th is free!

Sad.. When the original hole in the wall Camden N.J. Tap room is hands down better. Better taste better experience, better quality. I have been there twice. This time is the last. My sandwich came out, was placed in front of me. With out the frys ordered. The man serving me had a sandwich for another customer. He delivered it and came past see I was talking to the counter girl about my order he asks " was yours the one with cheese. I said yes. He picked up my untouched sandwich and goes to the other customer. He told the server I touched the sandwich. He brings me back the sandwich he took from me, puts infront of me and walks away. NO CHEESE. With this I thought complaining will get me some very special cheese.
