Aussie Steak N Burger

It’s carnivore time and tonight was a treat of ribs and burger with the obligatory chips and a few lettuce leaves to look like salad. Located in Docklands near the water, on a warm, balmy night this was a lovely place to eat. The menu is extensive and the wine list good. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend the ribs although the portion size wasn’t big so if that was all I had I’d still be hungry. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. High chairs available.

So I walk in on a Wednesday afternoon. I was the only person inside. Ordered the $20 steak lunch special, asked for Medium rare, got medium well. No big deal. The chips (fries) were nice and crunchy and were really good as long as you scratched off the excess salt. Overall I don't believe the steak was worth 20, or especially it's 26 normal price.

Wow, the place was quiet. Lunch on a Thursday, had the place to ourselves. The staff were very good, looking after a food intolerance and the food came out in a reasonable time. The $15 lunch options were pretty good. I enjoyed the burger I had, the chips were nice and crispy, and the house beer was a very crisp ale. The only downside was that the chips were a bit light on.

Baffling that we were the only table in the restaurant and yet our meals took over an hour to come out. I can understand that due to the location of the restaurant that they need to charge high prices but the quality was definitely not there to match it. Ordered a well under cooked steak versus the medium rare that I was looking for, the thing may as well have been mooing still.
