Good texture for the potato cakes but they were a bit small. Everything else was fine but kinda bland. Customer Service friendly enough

I had the fish souvlaki (battered) with chips and potato cakes.
Fish souvlaki was delicious, perfect amount of sauce and crispy battered fish even after a short drive to the beach.
Chips golden, seasoned well and potato cakes thin and crisp.
Super friendly service, minimal wait time even during busy hours, all smiles.
Lovely vibe, will be coming back!

I used to rate this fish and chip shop. But now it is rubbish. The flake is 2/3 batter, the flake consists of of razor thin slice of potato. The chips are dry. Inferior to other fish & chip shops around. What happened - lift your game.

If you've never tried the fish souvlaki you're really missing out.
Everything is top quality, the staff are friendly and efficient. Very lucky to have it as my local.

This place has their frying game PERFECT! Chips, potato cakes, battered fish, everything cooked perfectly- nice and crisp and not greasy. Food quality is high, and the prices are really reasonable.
Can’t wait to try a burger with the lot!

Having tried Fish and Chips from over 20 establishments in Melbourne, I can easily say that Vernon's Fish & Chippery is the best of them all by a very long margin.
Fish is deliciously crispy and chips are seasoned to perfection!
Why can't all other fish and chip shop's get the basics so right like Vernon Street?
