Ohama Japanese Restaurant

Still the one! I have been coming here for over 10 years, and the owners and food are still amazing. When I come back from out of town, it is still the first place I go to eat. The sushi is always huge rolls of delishishness - my personal favorites are the avocado (my gateway sushi), spicy-crunchy tuna and the New Century Roll, which gets capitals as that is what my mouth looks like while eating it :O. I also live for their Chocolate Martini and a pot of Jasmine Green Tea - and I think about them while I am running to the bathroom most of the night! This restaurant is not fast-food. If you do not love the company you are with (including your own) then the wait for service might seem long. This is family run! This is what it means to support local businesses! This haven is for people who love good food, good drinks and good people!

Beyond disappointment. Went out with my cousins to this place for the first time. It seemed quaint and quiet too. There was only one other table in there when we sat. We heard it was a little slower service but were willing to wait for decent food. We were sat and said someone will be right over. . . 5....10...15...25 min goes by and we werent even acknowledged after that. We all felt so awkward so we decided to leave. They didnt ever try to apologize as we trickled out. What an embarrassment...

A wonderful locally owned sushi restaurant in Middletown. Though I never thought to ask, I believe it is family owned. The hours are limited, but are perfect for a quiet sushi outing or simply amazing takeout. The rolls are a good size and I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here.

I love getting sushi here. I know the family who owns the business and they are very sweet! My favorite roll is the spicy crunchy tuna roll, and the mexican roll. The service is good, although it does take a bit for food to be made and drinks to be served because the server is also helping around with other things. By far, the best sushi I have ever had and would recommend anyone to come here and to take the time to enjoy the dinner because they are not in a rush at all; otherwise, do take out!

The good: Salmon and yellow tail sushi were good. They have grouper on the menu. The bad: Crab stick on rolls was very though. The lemon slices on a roll were too thick so you were chewing lemon rind. The miso was... different. Roll selection was poor, and prices were very high. It's a shame, because I was really hoping to find a reasonable quality decently placed sushi restaurant south of the C&D canal, but this was neither.

Sushi was good - but everything else was just a disaster. I have never had flat beer from a can... and twice, the beer was flat, needed to get bottles instead. When talking to the server, she practically finished my sentence when I told her the issue with the beer - tells me this is a common occurrence. Service was extremely inattentive - both servers were interested in other things, not their customers. We had to ask for our salads to be brought out. I think they may only have one sushi chef, took forever to get our two dishes - again, sushi was good, but everything else sealed their fate. Top it off with a bill for $100 - we won't be visiting again.
