Applebee's

Applebee's is one of the best restaurants in Middletown. The Applebee's concept focuses on casual dining, with mainstream American dishes such as salads, chicken, pasta, burgers, and riblets. So tonight's experiment was trying the Applebee's Southwest Chicken bowl. I have to say I was quite impressed. The cilantro lime rice was cooked well and very favorable. The grilled chipotle lime chicken was cooked to perfection; the chimichurri topping was sweet and added the extra level of tastiness. The bowl also comes with fresh mixed green lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, and black bean corn salsa. Mix it all together, and you get a very favorable experience. I will definitely be ordering this in the future and worth the $9.99 price tag!!!

Before the pandemic, this was one of our favorite places to eat out. This past visit was enough to keep me from going back. I think I should mention I am not usually vocal when issues arise, I tend to just leave it alone. However, this time there were so many issues our waitress couldn't even ignore them. The food was awful, some meals were cold to the touch (as if not properly warmed in a microwave) or over done. Drinks were watered down, which was fixed towards the end of our meal. Utensils were dirty. The only positive was our waitress. She kept apologizing and said "things have been slipping lately". We were not the only table having issues that evening.
