Rhea's Kitchen

My room was filthy I would never stay here again. I was incredibly disappointed with my stay at Rhea’s Kitchen. When we booked we were under the impression that we would have the convenience of the bar and restaurant downstairs, we were not informed that it would not be open and the website had no indication that it was closed. This was a major inconvenience to us and had we known we would have chosen to stay somewhere else. When we got into our room the shower curtain liner was FILTHY, which made us question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. The towels were stained as well. We did not feel comfortable being in there. One of the outlet covers was missing and two of the outlets were loose, making it very difficult to have anything plugged in. We also requested one bed, but after I confirmed we received an email saying we had two queen beds. I think for the astronomical price of our stay for two nights we should’ve had a much better experience. I would not stay here again and I would never recommend this place to anyone. If I had wanted to stay in a dirty, dingy place I wouldn’t have spent $873 for a two night stay. We had very limited time during our stay and didn’t have a chance to find a staff member, but we did send an email with our complaints and have not heard back. If we were not so rushed during our short time in Newport we would have immediately found a new place to stay upon arrival. I have attached pictures of the shower curtain and the outlet. Would give less than 1 star if I could.

Stayed upstairs at the inn for Christmas week. Such a cozy and clean place. Great location. Food is awesome. Needless to stay we ate dinner downstairs our entire stay except Monday because they close on Mondays. Barb was great and her martinis are delicious. Try the stuffed mushrooms and salmon! Also, my husband had the ribs and highly recommends them. Everything was great. Can’t wait to revisit!

The food was great, freshly prepared. However we specifically chose this place as we heard the Clams Casino was excellent and when we arrived we were told they didn't have any and hadn't had any for six months. Not sure why they still advertise this... Another issue was using my debit card and still being charged the surcharge as though it was a credit card. I brought this to the attention of the waitress and she balked at wanting to remove the charge even though the card was clearly labeled debit and their policies clearly said the surcharge only applied to credit cards So just be sure the place has an item if you really want it and check your bill for any hidden charges.

A couple years ago my sister's and I took a trip to Newport. What a wonderful trip. We wanted seafood and found Rhea's Inn and Restaurant. Let me tell ya we had lobster tail and it was wonderful along with the rest of the dinner. The staff were great and the place was very nice. Sorry it took me so long to do a review. I am sitting here at home and cant travel much anymore. I am watching Dave In the Kitchen and they are selling Maine Lobster and it reminded of Rhea's because this was the best lobster dinner I have ever had. So if you ate visting the area you really need to treat yourself to this place. You will not be disappointed. Only wish I could go there again.

We stayed here July 4th... great Inn. Went to dinner here on 4th of July 2020... pondered whether to go in town where it's hectic with lots of people and we chose to eat here.. NOT a disappointment! Barbecue ribs were outstanding, had the appetizer. I got the seafood combo and that was perfect! Chicken Parmesan was so tender! Our waitress was a joy. And to top off the night ... you MUST try the chocolate chip cookie Sunday. Jim's cookies are unbelievable!!! Great choice highly recommend! We will be back !

One of the more reasonably priced places to stay in Newport. This place is perfect. Clean newly renovated. The staff was nice and the food was awesome. I did a lot of research before coming and my hard work paid off. If your looking for no frills in a really frilly town this is were you should stay.
