Staying at Holiday Inn Express on West Main, right next door to CS II. Ordered the beef lo mein, pork fried rice, boneless spare ribs combo plate w/fried chicken, fried dumplings & sesame noodles. The fried chicken was fried-to-order so it was hot, tasty & crispy. The lo mein beef was tender, flavorful & the noodles were not drowning in sauce. The spareribs/teriyaki beef were a touch chewy but definitely edible. The pork fried rice was decent (6 out of 10). The dumplings were good & soft. Can't really comment on the sesame noodles, had a peanut butter-y taste. Overall, the meal was worth the money. Will order from CS II again!

One of the several Chinese food outlets in Newport and I have tried my best to sample from an many outlets and possible in my short stay. As typical of most Chinese food outlets, the interior decor is simple and the place can accommodate between 15-30 guests on a good day. The staff was friendly and the guy at the counter seemed to know all the food on the menu by heart. I understand the place has been around for a while. The food was good (I ordered takeaway to enable me savour the food better at home), freshly boiled rice and a side with chicken and shrimp.

Edit: Google won't let me add another review, so here's an update. Post Covid, 🤞still the best Chinese takeout in the area, and I've tried them all. Especially love the garlic sauce. +++++++++++++ My favorite Chinese takeout in the region, I eat regularly from their lunch special menu. Good prices, large portions, flavorful sauces - their kitchen knows what it's doing. Of special interest these days, they recently reopened after shutting down due to the pandemic. I have to say I am more impressed with their modifications to prevent community spread of the virus than with any other business I have visited: tables pushed aside to prevent seating, of course; a full, counter to ceiling plexiglass barrier between staff/kitchen and customers with a small opening for food and payments; two cups of pens, one clean for signing and one to put the used ones in; hand sanitizer for customer use; and counter staff wearing both masks and gloves. Oh - and the garlic sauce, rice, and spring rolls are still delicious!
