The House Restaurant

My friend and I ended up down town Montgomery for an eloquent lunch at The House Restaurant. Our Appetizers were the "Capitol City Egg Rolls" [Black eye Peas, Conecuh Sausage Rice, Rabbit Tenderloin, Cabbage, Green Pepper Tabasco Sauce]; and "Grilled Asparagus Flat Bread" [Squash, zucchini, artichokes, marinara, bel gioioso mozzarella]. I dined on the Seared Salmon with Risotto and Grilled Asparagus in Lemon Butter Sauce. My Guest enjoyed the "Montgomery House Salad" with Mixed Greens, Avocado, Tomato, Corn, Spicy Gulf Shrimp, Grilled Chicken, Boiled Egg, Bleu Cheese and Conecuh Sausage. Everything was truly mouth watering and amazing. The Hostess, Server and atmosphere was relaxing and warm. For your next brunch/lunch or dinner; make your way to the popular and exciting Downtown Restaurant inside The exclusive Renaissance Hotel & Spa.....THE HOUSE RESTAURANT TODAY!!! You will thank me!!!

Even though the food was slightly delicious. I started off with the salmon but when it was served it was flavorless and cold so therefore I swap it out for the fried chicken which should’ve been my first choice . Not to mention it was my Mothers Birthday Dinner we wanted to take her out to a nice restaurant and some of our family members and friends actually recommended this place.. . Our service was poor . Plus 20% gratuity on each persons tab .. definitely does not deserve that . Our server didn’t seem like she cared to attend to us . Never got refills not even on the water that was already served to us when we first got there , only came and checked on us once when the food came out and we were sat in the back I assume by the kitchen area cause of our large party .. The kitchen staff was extremely loud we heard every conversation that they had word for word . I recommend better wait staff and the kitchen staff to be considerate of others eating in the main dining area .

The food is excellent! It is not like typical 'hotel' food at all. The menu has upscale Southern fare and healthy choices for all palates. Also, the layout of the restaurant lends itself to a social distancing and a comfortable ambience for a small or large dinner party. I highly recommend The House.

Don't waste your money or time. The food was terrible and cold. $25.00 for a breakfast buffet with minimal selections and most cold is ridiculous. The service was bad. After sitting for about 20 mins I finally got up to get someone just to ask for water. There was plenty of servers but no one took the time to even stop at our table. The coffee was cold and I had to request hot twice and neither was ever hot. Take my advice eat somewhere else. The downtown area has tons of restaurants and plenty within quick walking distance. Never again for us.!
